I have a feeling Cam and X are going to use this loss to fuel them to improve the offense.

My question is can the defense do the same? Dramatic improvements are unlikely but can Guidry and leaders on that defense get the defense to at least be functional? Who are the leaders on the defense and can/will they make the changes needed to be somewhat dependable?

Cam can start by taking what the defense gives, get ball out, look for Arroyo more, and not chase big play.

No. It is November 10th. If nothing has changed and “fueled” them by now, nothing will. I really wish ya’ll would stop with this fairy tale hope lol. Guidry isn’t doing anything to fix anything and our players aren’t going to magically become better and/or develop more talent or become leaders of any sort.

The defense is cooked.. it will not get better this season, the scheme is broken or not being communicated to the players well enough because the players are always confused. The word is out, shift motion and the play works..

Then u have issues of player who we should depend on regressing porter and Kiko, playing below what they previously showed. Some give porter pass say he only can play well when he outside.. then they put him outside and he still cooked.. Kiko is one of biggest fall offs I have seen

Stack on top of that now you have some of the worst safety play you will ever see. With no value for position and coaches don't care because they made a walk on their portal pickup and defacto leader.. then I guess told insiders that position was solid, no depth just complete gutted room

Listen, this is nut up or shut up time. I was a college athlete. I’ve coached and I know what it’s like to squeak by and win. I also know what it’s like to **** the bed and lose. You learn a **** of a lot more from your losses than your wins. It’s human nature. If we are a serious program we will work our asses off over the next two weeks and win the acc. We will know what team we have in two weeks. I’m done moping. If we look like **** vs wake, I’m gonna uncork the doom and gloom tho lmao

we were 9-0 with tons of pub n hype...so the board exploded...dudes and names I never see posting in here ever cuz of the hype and the bandwagon begins...
most of y'all never watch games but because we are getting so much pub you watch a few games this year and come in to post without knowing what you are seeing.

tiger's dont change their stripes...there's a reason the vets talk about the Nov swoon..the tape is out and despite what you may think, ACC coaches are no dummies.

Slightly disagree. Last year when our DE room was depleted Guidry made adjustments on the fly by going to a 3-3-5 scheme. Or at least that’s what he said he did. Making adjustments at this point in the season is what every coach vying for a CFP spot is doing. If we don’t, then you can just kiss the season goodbye because we will lose another game which will kick us out the conference title game thus ending the season. Because the book is out on this offense and defense. Mario and the staff are paid to make on the fly adjustments to mitigate our weaknesses especially after a loss. They have a reason now. They didn’t before because we were undefeated. That dream is over now. They don’t have that excuse to use as a crutch as to why they are not adjusting.

Yeah, you are talking about last year. I’m talking about THIS year. If Guidry hasnt done anything to fix this mess by now, he isn’t magically going to.

I’m a vet, but I think this goes too far.

I agree about peeps coming out of nowhere due to hype, that’s for sure. And that’s how it goes everywhere. But I’m with you.

You may end up right about tigers and November, we’ll see, but calling a shot here isn’t necessary.

We’ve clearly broken some trends this year. Not all of them, and obviously we’re not where we want to be. I’m frustrated about yesterday, and most aren’t surprised we got burned given recent trends. Many saw it coming and it’s annoying to watch it unfold if you expected it.

But again, whether you give all credit to Cam or credit the staff for raising the floor with coaching/recruiting/etc., either way, things are better today than they were for most of the past 15-ish years. I don’t care to play the ‘if we didn’t have Cam’ or ‘next year will be worse’ games, we are where we are…which is 9-1 and controlling our destiny to get to the ACC and playoffs with an honest, realistic shot at both as we stand (meaning without need for calculus formulas and hopes of miracle changes and athletic awakenings).

And either of those would be a wildly successful season (regardless of why) compared to recent miserable seasons. Gotta give them some credit for getting here, even if it hasn’t been pretty. I can see how it “feels” like we could be 6-4, but we’re also not 6-4 and I’ve enjoyed the season into November for once.

In other words, it’s 35-10 in the 3rd against Cal. I’d agree we should’ve been able to avoid this, it’s not ideal, and we very well may lose. I’d rather it look different. Maybe one day it will. But I’m not going to sleep. Gonna keep watching, this team might also just pull it off. Stranger things have happened.

You would think this defense would improve purely by practicing against cam but clearly that hasn’t happened
