Was surfing around the posts from months and even a year ago. Found interesting things:

(1) Malcom Bunche, Erek Flowers and Henderson - We were still unsure how this would all unfold. Hendo wasn't engaged. Many people thought Bunche was better inside. Some thought he'd be the LT. Pretty much everyone was intrigued with Flowers.

(2) Stephen Morris - there seemed to be a lot of hope. Some remaining questions. Teetering on seeing everything come together.

(3) Stacy Coley - great, great post in there from WildcatCane. Pretty much sums up why we might see Coley early on in his career. I still think he'll need a niche and I hope that niche is high pointer in the Redzone.

(4) Coach D - You know how this goes.

(5) Duke Johnson - Everyone gushes about him, but this link is just worth watching the video and getting excited for the season.

Whew...I read the title wrong. I thought this was a thread to talk about the Cane FlashForwards that I never finished from last year! HAHA. I gotta go check out the duke thread in particular!

Yeah, you're pretty god**** worthless. You need to do a better job of getting those finished this year, bud.

I would be interested to see (and may pull this together if I have time) the difference between Golden's comments this year versus last year. He has always struck me as a straight shooter (within reason).

My memory from last year is that he kept insisting that we had a long way to go. Some fans chose to disregard that message (including myself, hope springs eternal) and think that we were ahead of where we had been in the past (because let's be honest, it's not really worth looking forward to even 8 win seasons).

This year he seems markedly more impressed with our team. I would like to take those remarks at face value because he has been honest about our short-comings in the past.

i elaborated on this in another thread. last year he said that we were making progress but there were still issues to resolve. this year, in his first state of the u address at the beginning of camp, it was a different vibe and a different message. he said everyone was invested, everyone was in shape and there were no real issues. this is a dramatic shift from 2 years ago and from last year.

although the final real results are on the field, it seems the house is in better order with better occupants. this will likely lead to better results.

People said it then but it's worth saying again: Duke Johnson's FRESHMAN reel is akin to some of the best RB's highlight careers. Just ******* unreal.

Yeah it's pretty nuts.

I'm a Carolina Panthers fan. I had a 'discussion' with a fellow Panther about Gio Bernard vs Duke Johnson - I said that as a Freshman Duke was a better player than Gio is as (Redshirt?) Sophmore heading towards the NFL.

You just have to look at those highlights - he has unbelievable vision and an ability to stop and start on a dime. If he stays healthy he could break all of the records.
