The fact that we're so mediocre....

.... really has to start taking a psychological toll on us from the perspective that every game we have played thus far, with the exception of BCC, we've had to gear up for it like it's WW3.

BC was the ACC opener on the road.
KState was the huge national redemption game.
GT was on the road against an ACC team that we knew we challenge us.
NC State was us coming down off the emotional high and needing to stay focused on an ACC game.
Notre Dame was a huge national game where we went all in and got thumped.

Next up NC, then FSU, then VT.

This team is young. Aside from the physical disadvantage, it's going to be difficult for Al to keep getting these guys up for every game like it's the Super Bowl.

It's been said before, but whoever put this schedule together did us zero favors. This might seem like a really wimpy mentality, but I just wonder when it will manifest itself into one of those games where we just look like we're mentally spent. Every team hits the wall at some point.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't we been underdogs in every game except BCC?

I didn't know/realize that, but it's crazy. I know that before every game I feel like this (0:00-1:56): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1ZrFV9dlo0&feature=related

At some point that takes a toll doing it game after game. We just can't take ANYONE lightly and have to get geeked out of our minds for teams like KSU, ND, UNC, FSU, VT. I just hope the catastrophic fatigue game I'm envisioning isn't in a critical ACC game.

Agree +10000%. But last year was pretty much the same IIRC...lots of close close wins and losses. 8 out of 12 games decided by one possession, 2 decided in the 4th quarter, and only 2 were blowouts (Duke, BCC).

Are we rotating our players more? If so, this might help us stay at least physically rested. Mental fatigue is another question altogether. We do have a bye week coming up after FSU.

If we have to have a letdown game in an ACC game, it better be either this week against UNC or next week against FSU. We definitely cannot afford to have one against UVA, VT, or Duke. The best place for a letdown is the USF game, which could end up to be meaningless.

We have one big upset against GT. Let's see if we can have another upset this Saturday

Last year at UNC was also a easy game. We had like 20 pts lead early.
