belk was just a name ppl on here were throwing around.
Belk was the top choice. His buyout was apparently an issue that just couldn’t be overcome.

Mario's interview process:Did this guy have to interview for 5 hours or 5 weeks or whatever that story was for Mario‘s interview process?? If not, we don’t want him right? Jokes - don’t know much about him, but looks like he’s bringing a lot of experience.
Mario is demanding, nut up and do the job. Thats why they get paid a lot of money. This was going on long before that.
Folks are gonna have to have patience. Hopefully, the portal helps out. Definitely need some DL help to make his defenses work.My biggest concern with Steele is how successful can he be with the lack of talent and the lack of depth on the defensive side of the ball? The OC is getting a Ferrari and Steele is getting a beat up Ford Escort
My bad if posted
According to who? People on here?Belk was the top choice. His buyout was apparently an issue that just couldn’t be overcome.

Methinks Steele didn't like what he saw at Maryland and based on what Football scoop says, he initiated contact. Interesting.
He was never hired at Maryland they was in talks my guyAlso, he just got hired at Maryland four days ago.
So this was clearly Plan C for Mario.
At my son’s baseball game but I’ll get it on before midnight.Wow wtf everyone, first off welcome to the U coach Steele....
Everyone is complaining why? We finally have a real d coordinator with a dline coach...
What everyone should be mad that after reading 27 pages no booty pics from..... @PIPO and @djnellz ..... come on let's goooooo
Let's fckin celebrate gentleman...he may not be our number one choice but a great back up.
with all due respect to the people that you are referencing, they are batting .000%Yes.

That’s why your coach can’t have a lispReplace “5, 3” with 8 for us and that will be our pregame speech.
Would you rather someone that doesn’t hold coaches to task or set high standards? I know it isn’t easy to work for someone like that but if done right it breeds success. But there is a thin line between being el jefe and just a plain *******The oregon board has been talking for months about how Moorehead was not happy having to work under Mario. The coaching world is a small world, so I would not be surprised if elite coordinators didn't want to work under him.
Perception certainly is reality. I told my cousin (who's a huge Nole fan) about Steele and he gut-laughed. Said he was awful at FSU and that his defenses were ***** soft. Sour grapes or reality? Who knows? You're an idiot. Kevin Steele has long been one of the more respected defensive minds in the game and has worked for some of the best. Even the late Bobby Bowden said "he's as strong as anybody I've ever seen in recruiting".
Is he an A+ up and coming young defensive mind type hire? No. But he's certainly above a B grade and knows how to run and call an aggressive defense.

That is not what people said Moorehead was angry about. People said he was forcing moorehead to run "his style of offense". the runs up the gut every play. That type of thing.Would you rather someone that doesn’t hold coaches to task or set high standards? I know it isn’t easy to work for someone like that but if done right it breeds success.
