The Ed Reed moment of this board

**** was mad corny and, as per the course, i shut it down with too much factual, logical speak leaving the trogdumbs with their baby d1cks in hand mumbling "Oh well herpy herp you're a mope-a-derp derp herp".

I know you have a keen understanding of this board from your week of posting, but the problem isn't too much facts. The problem is that threads which have nothing to do with Coach D or Coach Golden are turning into limp-wristed slap fights about Coach D and Coach Golden.

There are people who come here to read Canes news and discuss the team without hearing about "slurpers" and "mopes." The post wasn't about positivity vs. negativity. It was about sticking to football talk and being excited about the season.

I'm assuming everyone is excited for the season, or else they wouldn't be wasting their time on a Miami message board in July.

Monaco is not a mod. I was the one who locked the thread. I said what I needed to be say and wanted to move on to real football talk.

My take is of what's happening.

Earlier in the off-season, there were lots and lots of mopes and negative nancy's.

Loser "fans" who are actually jaded, sarcastic snobs made posts that don't make sense to troll d money's polite request to stop moping.

On 3PM today, we find a thread made by guy named Monaco trying to hijack the board and put attention on himself.

The hilarious thing about slurpers and mopes is that I've been called both. If you have a difference of opinions on here you're called a mope and if you have a difference of opinion in the WEZ you're called a slurper.

Not really and it was actually a bit inaccurate.

Are there some who are excessively negative. Yes. The problem is their are just as many who are excessively and blindly optimistic to the point where they ignore the facts. This goes the same for some of the excessively negative guys. The overly positive guys defend Golden to the point they will gladly throw our players under the bus and then say the mopes are chasing off recruits. Funny, because if you guys talk about the players read these boards, then proceed to trash most of our players, how is that actually helping. Hypocritical at best. At least the mopes are keeping the focus on the coaching which in the end is the most responsible.

Here's a thing about the "facts" that mopers love to cite. They were acquired under unfavorable circumstances (e.g. inheriting poor talent/depth, mass suspensions, NCAA distraction and resulting low player moral due to suspensions/bowl ban/ uncertainty about future, injuries to an already thin depth chart and to key players like Duke, Morris, Bush, loss of key personnel like Eddie Johnson.
And despite all this Golden and staff have been able to increase wins by 2 each year and have put the team in a position where they are being picked as the favorites to win the coastal by the ACC media. Yet we have mopers on here *****ing nonstop about how bad things are because their tainted "facts" tell them so..

And by no means am I saying that Golden and staff don't deserve criticism for some of their coaching philosophy and decisions some of which were driven by circumstance but not all. They certainly due deserve some criticism. Just not to the point where folks have been ready to send him packing after the Maryland game and first couple of years. My main bone to pick with Golden is his player personnel decisions in particular how he's handled the QB position. We'll see this year will tell us a lot is all I'm going to say.
