Felt like we just didn’t want to give FSU anything because we didn’t respect their offense. The way we were aggressive last week against Louisville gives me the vibe tonight was just specific to this opponent. As much as we wanna blow FSUs doors off, they played good defense so we took what they gave us

It’s gonna be a tough assignment for any DC having us on the schedule when Cam has a night like that and we still aren’t threatened

I thought that it was a very intelligent game plan. Take what they give you, and don’t force the ball when there’s nothing there. Cam did a good job of throwing the ball away when there was no play to be had.

FSU’s only chance was to force turnovers and have a short field to drive. We never gave them that opportunity.

Every time that I see Cam in shotgun with an empty backfield, I shutter. He’s gotten murked out of those type of formations the last couple of weeks. You’d think that Dawson would see that on film and try to minimize that kind of play call.

The OL didn’t pick up the blitz well and Cam got hit pretty hard. Duke blitzes a lot. Need to get that figured out.

We’ll be facing the best defense that well may see this season, and their QB is the kind of QB that our Canes have struggled against. Our D will have to come ready to play. Our OL is gonna see more blitzing than they’ve seen all season long. Cam and the offense will have to be locked in and focused. Our DL will have to play disciplined and finish plays off. Our LB’s and DB’s will have to tackle way better.

Hopefully Mario will have our Canes ready and focused.

I remember you saying this last week and I didn't see it. After tonight, I think we might be in for a tough game. But overall the way were running the ball, I don't see Duke having the frontline to stop us. Malik Murphy is way too inconsistent. He's the 2nd worst QB we'll face so far in the ACC but he is a step up from what FSU had. Murphy has his moments. It'll be interesting cause Duke should have won tonight

Looking forward, Ga Tech didn't have Haynes King today. They played with the backup and Va Tech only beat them 21-6.
Not sure what to take from that; Va Tech has been another team that seems to have up and down performances. They had 2 interceptions today, too.

Duke is just a less talented FSU.

Their offense might even been worse.


They have some good players up front on defense but seeing how we just shoved around a much better FSU front, we should be able to handle them easily.

It’s a Manny defense so they’re going to bring a ton of pressure and leave themselves exposed occasionally. As long as we don’t try to get too cute like we did a few times against FSU and Mauigoa isn’t relied on to pass protect without help, we should put up an easy 34-40 points.

Offensively, they’re incapable of scoring more than 14 points against us. Even if we gift them turnovers.

Expect more of the same vs Duke. Their offense is equally anemic and you know Manny will be dialing up exotic blitzes so we’ll play conservative on O since we don’t respect their ability to score.

That should mean a receiver is running wide open though, no? If they blitz, Cam needs to release the ball more quickly and he needs one of the receivers to bail on their vertical route to give him that quick release option.

After 8 games I feel confident saying we are one of only a few teams that have a truly balanced offense. No that does not mean 50/50 run pass. That means if a defense sells out to stop the run, Ward will slice them up. If they play to stop the pass, we will gladly run the ball down your throat.
