We have made some mediocre QB’s look good this season. Even tonight, we made a true FR QB and Brock Glenn look better than they are. We’re fortunate that their offense sucks and is last in CFB for a reason.

Kelly is a very dangerous runner, and he can throw an accurate deep ball. He struggles in the intermediate passing game, which is his Achilles heel. We will have to play lights out, as Manolo will have a major chip on his shoulder, and will throw the kitchen sink at us.

I agree that we have to play a solid game, and a considerably better one than we did tonight.

I believe we will.

No, just stating my opinion. I know that some of you live in unicorn and fairy land, but most of us live in the real world.

Our Canes can play much better than they have been playing overall on defense. We were fortunate to face the worst rated offense in CFB this season. The Holes are dead last in points scored and total yards.

Duke will be a much tougher test.

Duke almost beat a very good SMU team tonight. They have been playing well all season long. They will most definitely be a very tough opponent.

Murphy is absurdly slow. If he had any speed, he would have gotten around on that bootleg easily for the win in OT. He’s a statue and they legitimately have 1 WR to cover. How you lose that game with 6 turnovers created is astounding. Duke is equivocally a bottom 30 offense nationally

We roll. Im more concerned with Syracuse, who despite being dunked on by Pitt, will have good WRs and a top 5 TE nationally running rampant. Expect another Louisville-esque shootout.

Yeah admittedly I didn’t know a ton about Murphy but was stunned that play wasn’t an easy walk in TD

Syracuse is gonna be a tough one unless McCord has a TVD esque hangover from all those INTs

We faced a horrific offense tonight with zero offensive line and still really couldn’t get much pressure (though they did scheme for that a bit)

Excellent post, as usual! I agree on all points.

McCord played the worst game he will probably ever play, and he’s been lights out the rest of this season. That game will definitely be very tough, specially because it’ll be at their house and they’ll be trying to spoil our season.

I also agree that our DL struggled to create pressure, and when they did get pressure they didn’t finish the play. They’ve been underwhelming the last 4 games and have a lot to work on.

For the record I don’t necessarily disagree with what you’re saying about Duke either

This team is…an enigma 😂

We keep finding ways to win games but we find new positives and negatives from week to week as well. I have no idea what to expect at this point but at least tonight my stress levels were held in check a bit
 
Duke's offense is complete ***! SMU turned the ball over 6 times and they still lost. Seems like every upcoming opponent has " the best offense" or " the best defense" we will face. After we dispose of Duke, we will have a hundred threads on here discussing the challenges of facing an indomitable 5-4 GT team.

They are definitely an enigma. But I am pleased with the way that we ran the ball tonight. FSU decided to play 2 deep safeties all game long and played man-to-man, which allowed our OL and RB’s to feast. For the first time in a long time I was ****ed off that we kept trying to pass so much. We were murking them with our running game.

Also, I agree that our stress levels were thankfully way lower tonight.

The game played out just as I thought that it would. I’ve watched a few FSU games this season, and knew that they would play their extreme bend but don’t break defense. That’s the only thing that’s kept them from being blown out in every game this season. They try to shorten the game because they know that their offense sucks.

Hopefully our D will improve from here on out.

We played fairly conservative and it maybe raised some new concerns for people. I get that

Felt like we just didn’t want to give FSU anything because we didn’t respect their offense. The way we were aggressive last week against Louisville gives me the vibe tonight was just specific to this opponent. As much as we wanna blow FSUs doors off, they played good defense so we took what they gave us

It’s gonna be a tough assignment for any DC having us on the schedule when Cam has a night like that and we still aren’t threatened
