The Canes and the ACC finally see eye-to-eye...

I agree with splitting up the FSU and VT road games, but I'm not too sure about the Thursday night home games. Miami generally plays well on Thursday nights and most likely draw people to the TV sets (one thing ESPN likes about us). If anything, I think Miami was probably more embarrassed with the comments from the game announcers than the actual "game" attendance, IMO.

### In scheduling the Hokies to play at UM for a second year in a row, the Atlantic Coast Conference finally consented to the Hurricanes’ wishes to split up the Virginia Tech and FSU series so that UM plays one at home and one on the road. The Canes also have asked the ACC not to give them a Thursday night home game and are optimistic that will be granted. It could hurt UM in recruiting if high-school players see small crowds on ESPN Thursday games.

Yeah. Because Miami being notorious for poor attendance isn't already a widely known truism. UM not playing on Thursday night is now somehow going to hide that fact?

Being the only game on Thurs night makes it all the more obvious, though. At least when we draw 35k to UNC or GT or UVA games, they'll be buried among a sea of other games on Saturday.

PLUS, it gets us out of having a short week/long week thing.

Im fine with Thursday nights. We usually schedule our Bye the week prior and basically have back to back game with about 10 days to prepare.

I love flying down for the Thursday night games because then I've got the rest of the weekend to hang in Miami. But I agree our crowds are terrible at sun life on Thursday nights. I remember playing Louisville at home on a Thursday night at the OB and it was packed.

Winning football games always cures poor attendance and boosts recruiting. We're trying to get back to the good days.

Pop up seat filler mannequins should be apart of the Dolphin Stadium remodel, both teams sure could use it.

dammit mane i thought it was NC state...

I was always a fan of thurs nights also. Gave us a national spotlight, and we always looked good (uniform-wise) under the lights.

When recruits come to games the stands are always empty anyways. My thought is that if its gonna be an empty stadium, might as well be on espn thurs night. Not sure I agree that Thursdays hurt recruiting.

It will sell more season tickets. There was a time when ticket holders in my group only bought tickets every other season. This is a great move with the schedule. Thursday night games, don't bother me either way.

Not a fan of thursday night games. Kills tailgating and traffic is a nightmare.

2007 texas a&m in the orange bowl on thursday night was unbelievable.

That was the last quasi-wild night for the old girl.

Agree. I was there and that will always be what I consider my last great OB memory. Because it **** sure wasn't the UVA game or the stupid light show after.

I love the Thursday games! It's the one game of the year I'm guaranteed to be able to watch on tv!

I hate Thursday games, hard to get off work so I usually don't make them and splitting the VT and FSU series was a no brained.

That's my MO as well.

I also remember that Louisville game. The stadium was more than half empty at kickoff but was 3/4th full by halftime. I think that is part of the problem. Its difficult to work a full day and get to the OB on time.
