10-2 was a step in right direction for the program, but ultimately leave with feeling like a failure given the circumstances. Now that’s out of the way… look at the above.

*Way more* analysts and “experts” have Miami sneaking in. Obviously none of this matter if Clemson beats SMU (which they will because we have awful luck and can’t have anything nice).

Everyone yelling “they don’t deserve it” is dumb because none of the 3 loss teams deserve it either - if they did they wouldn’t have 3 losses.

A recap:
• Miami:
—> 10-2. 2 losses by combined 9 points to 7-5 and 9-3 on the road.
—> Common opponent with Alabama: USF. Our margin of victory > and on the road
—> Common opponent with Ole Miss: UF. We crushed them, they lost.

• South Carolina:
—> 9-3. 3 losses by combined 20+ points to all 8-4 or greater teams
—> No common opponents
—> Lost to Ole Miss and Alabama H2H

• Alabama:
—> 9-3. 3 losses by a combined 20+ points to 2 bad teams (6-6, 6-6 and then UTenn 10-2)
—> Own H2H over South Carolina

• Ole Miss
—> 9-3. 3 losses to a team 4-8, 7-5, and I forgot who else.
—> Common opponents listed above
—> Beat South Carolina H2H

I ultimately think they’ll place South Carolina above us in the Tuesday rankings, but that’ll cause uproar for the Alabama and Ole Miss fans.

Is the #5 ND or PSU vs #12 Miami matchup too enticing to pass up? Cam Ward in the playoffs?

Let’s see… but again won’t matter since Clemson will win (unless they win 100-0)

We should get in over 3 loss SEC teams
Nah. This isn’t a playoff caliber team. Who cares that the other options lost to worse teams than we did and have an additional loss. I’ve only watched Miami this year and I can tell you with certainty we aren’t a playoff caliber team, we look nothing like 2001 which is the only barometer.

It’s comes down to appeal… the Hurricane Brand does well for college football and it’s ratings. Miami will get in.
It will get ugly but we get it with SMU if they take care of business on Saturday.

I don’t see how you leave out 2 ACC teams when one has 1 loss and the other has 2 losses.

I want this team in and I want them to travel to Oregon or Penn St or Georgia or Texas. For a Dec 20 or 21 game.

Comparing eras is folly.

Miami is absolutely a playoff-caliber team in today's 12-team CFP format. Best offense in CFB by many metrics. Defense is offensive, yes, but at 10-2 the Canes are worthy of consideration in the 10-12 seeding range. There are more than three teams who could make arguments for those spots.

Four teams automatically qualify. You have to pick eight.

This is today's CFP parity.

Someone call the Committee! They need to know that "TwentySix" doesn't think Miami is a playoff caliber team. And we don't look like the best team in the history of college football!

Can someone please pour some cold water on this guy?
