If it’s a player like Yearby, who’s a solid contributor but goes earlier than he should to the draft then agreed OP. More incentive not to risk a highly uncertain draft placement or being undrafted altogether.

I agree but it won't help keep top draft eligible players. IMO it will help keep the late round and possible UFA kids another year. Deferring your dream another year when you know you are at worst a 3-4 round pick is not happening.
