The ACC is awful.
They had a cumulative combined record of 27-21 (56.25%) versus out of conference opponents. The worst in among major FBS schools. The second worst conference (The Big East) went 25-11. FWIW, the Big 12 went 26-4 and the SEC 48-8.
Breaking it down.
Against just FBS competition, the ACC was also dead last going a sub-.500 14-21 (40.00%)...no other conference in the nation went sub-.500 in FBS conference play. The Big 12 would go 17-4 and the SEC 33-8.
Also, against BCS level competition...the ACC, also dead last...at an embarrassing 6-17 (26.08%).
Brutal.
1-8 versus a combined SEC and Big 12.
