Since the superconference was formed in 2004-2005 with the merger of Big East teams there are 6 teams that have made one appearance in the game and all of have lost including Miami.

One of those teams is Notre Dame in 2020 and they aren't really an ACC team in football anyways (that was the covid year)

NC State, Boston College, Pitt, wake forest and georgia tech each has MORE appearances than Miami.

The one time we managed to show up for this game we lost by 35 points without even scoring a touchdown.

This year even our all generational offense was no match for the curse.

I remember when we joined the ACC no one was interested in the championship game because they just wanted to win NC...so far we have managed to win neither.

You are what your record says we are and basically we are trash.

We've had the highest ranked recruiting classes in the ACC for 3 years in a row...none of it mattered.

For 20 years we've been saying "maybe next year" and it goes on...

We are cursed in this league...Convince me otherwise!

I'm still upset with the 2004 game vs Virginia Tech. Winner is ACC Champ. Played at home and lose 16-10.
I still see those images of Tech players pouring Sugar like they were Def Leppard. Year 1 should have been our 1st ACC Championship.
I actually went to our inaugural ACC game vs. FSU that year in Miami. We let Jimmy F Williams shut down a whole half of the field by himself against VT. It was sickening to watch to say the least. No creativity from the offense back then. Just line up in the I and two wide receivers and play ball. We had some ballers then too. That was basically during the beginning of the end for our beloved program. Really started in 2002 after losing the Fiesta Bowl. No visionary as a coach with limited X and O’s skills will do that to ya…Siggghhh…I’ve been a fan for 35 years…Just patiently waiting…

6 former Big East teams? VT won the ACC in 2004 in the de facto championship game against us. You're already starting out with a bad porst.

Why do people keep coming up with curses?
I remember when we joined the ACC no one was interested in the championship game because they just wanted to win NC...so far we have managed to win neither.
You mean when we were a couple years removed from what could have been three national championships? Coming fresh off a 10 win season where we beat Florida State twice. Where we had won our conference title almost every year? You mean to tell me that there used to be expectations?
You are what your record says we are and basically we are trash.
By your argument, right now, 10 wins is trash. I'm not arguing with you I'm just making sure you know what you are saying.
We've had the highest ranked recruiting classes in the ACC for 3 years in a row...none of it mattered.
Yeah
For 20 years we've been saying "maybe next year" and it goes on...
Maybe next year. Mario just needs time.
We are cursed in this league...Convince me otherwise!
Stop trying to make curses a thing. Are you 12?

Just imagine if the administration didn’t go cheap with the football coaches they hired, they were on cruise control once they got into the ACC, collecting checks and fielding a very bad product and no one even gave a ****. That my friends is how you ruin a football program.

I say we hire Theo Epstein at some point, that dude broke the Red Sox and Cubs curses, why not give him a try, as like GM is the football program or something.

Remember the story that circulated a few years ago about Restrepo getting negative feedback from teammates because he was, in their minds, too serious, dedicated and focused about football? If there's been a curse, that's a foundational part of it - the curse of south Florida culture and attitudes. I can't prove it with data, but it makes more sense than a conference curse or an Orange Bowl curse.
