I know this was briefly touched on last summer, but with the fourth season in the books (hopefully the final for most) I wanted to revisit.

Gentlemen, welcome to the worst HS recruiting class in Miami Hurricanes history.

26-22 record (.540 win percentage)
- This is the LEAST amount of wins for a four year class since the 1977 class.

ZERO HS players from this class were named to an All-ACC team (1st, 2nd or 3rd)
- Hedley was a JUCO transfer and 45 years old when he enrolled, not counting him.

- Possibly Zion next year? Not holding my breath.

10 of the 16 HS recruits to sign (62%) did not finish their playing career at UM
-Realistically could be another two/three added to this count by Fall.

It’s possible there’s zero players from this class drafted
- Last recruiting class to have two or fewer players drafted was 2004.
- IF Couch, Harvey or Zion are not drafted, this would be the first HS class in the recruiting era to produce ZERO draft picks.

Three Top 200 recruits:

Jeremiah Payton -- think he may have caught a cold here, definitely no footballs, and was last heard from stocking shelves at a Trader Joes while moonlighting on the Butler football team (no, not THAT Butler. The one next to the NAPA auto parts in El Dorado).

Christian Williams -- Went to USF, don't think he's played much, I guess coming back for a 5th season in 2023? But if you're making no noise at USF, large yikes.

Keontra Smith -- Was starting here for a while, got injured, never really played much again. Transferred.

I could be crazy, but that's probably not how you win.

Oh, and the jury is still out, they all might suck, but I believe the number of top 200 recruits Mario has signed in 14 months is fifteen.

2018 say hold my beer. GR15, Mallory, Cam Harris, and Jordan were the only bright spots. Only had Rousseau for a year, Jordan, couldn't stay healthy, Harris was banged up in 2021, Mallory was left a lot of plays on the field.

Keontra Smith is still here. He switched to LB and gained too much weight now he moves about as fast as half of this board.

A thought I’ve been having, maybe you guys can add your opinion. But could this be a reason why Cristobal was such a “drill sergeant” this year? Because he knew this team was weak minded. Lacked true talent. And was just all around bad.

It seemed like all the players that transferred out or complained were the ones that might have been overrated and had bruised egos. Maybe Cristobal was trying to either get them to shape up or ship out on purpose?

I get there is still a fair amount of criticism that falls on the coaching staff. Gattis not connecting with absolutely anyone, players or coaches. It seemed like Steele was obviously upset with the lack of talent/IQ going in to the season.

To me the players that put their head down and got to work were the ones who succeeded. Kam, Parrish, even Flagg regardless of his abilities.

Maybe once the roster starts to turn over with professional type attitudes things will start to calm down on the “drill sergeant” front. Cristobal did have his fair share of formers players either have glowing comments, Kayvon, or transfers to the U.

Didn’t stop me from lying about them at the time.

Looks like UGAs class in comparison to 19’. Also don’t think you’re giving enough love to Scaife (he was all conference). Realistically GR made more impact in one season than the entire 2019 class made in four.

Mallory is the perfect example to show you just how bad the 19 class was. We all have our reservations regarding him, yet he would’ve been by far the best player in the 19 class (all conference and about to get drafted).

Forgot about Scaife thanks for pointing him out. He was basically a starter from mid 2018 through 2022. All conference twice?

I punished myself by going through this exercise earlier this year while we were ****ting ourselves o the field

It’s tough to pick a “worst” but I have the edge with 2019

Sad times my man sad times
