The offense went buckwild. Ryan Williams had a great day, Mike James broke a bunch of big runs, and the offense generally did whatever they wanted.

Fast forward to the spring game and the offense was completely shutdown. Phillip Dorsett had one big play, Rashawn Scott had a few nice catches, and only touchdown was scored.

There appears to be a yin and a yang to camp. The offense will have their day, but it doesn't mean the defense is putrid. The coaches will review the film, get the injured linebackers back, and the D will improve.

Can't take anything from any of these scrimmages. Coaches are working on groupings and seeing what guys can do in certain situations and finding out what they can't do. If Coach D ran the ones on defense and threw the kitchen sink at them the offense gets shut down. This offense needs confidence and allowing them to get some yards and score TD's is exactly what is needed right now.

* CB Brandon McGee was asked if it's tough to bring down Duke Johnson.

"He's definitely shifty in space," McGee said. "The coaches definitely did a great job recruiting, bringing that guy in. If you have him in space you definitely have to bring your `A' game. Duke is a great athlete.

"I remember one move he made (in the scrimmage) where he took a hop-step back and the whole field was just like `Ooh!' On film it looked pretty good from an offensive perspective."

McGee said on the play that Johnson looked like he was going to be tackled before he took the quick hop back and burst around the outside.

"It was crazy - I don't think I've ever seen that happen before," McGee said.

That entire quote deserves it's own Thread.....

DUKE is going to be Miami's version of Reggie Bush and Percy Harvin. A guy that, just simply, can't be stopped on the College Football Level. It's just crazy to think that he still isn't anywhere near his potential..... :cigar:

The thing that stands out about Randy Johnson from seeing him from last year is that many times it almost looks like spliced film - lol. I mean the guy looks like he is going to be tackled, then suddenly he appears a yard or two away from the tackler. I'm glad he's on our side.

Duke was out best overall recruit IMO in the '12 class. Flowers and Howard will come out top notch in time, but Duke has that special something to him. Oh, and he was instrumental in landing Tracy. Can't wait to see he and Collins sharing carries.
