The committee has justified Alabama’s inclusion by saying that quality wins count more than bad losses. They penalize Indiana, Boise, SMU and pretty much everyone outside of the SEC because they haven’t been beating “good” teams.
Well…neither has Texas. The Longhorns have played two games against currently ranked opponents. They lost both to Georgia. They have not defeated a ranked opponent. Their best win is an 8-4 Texas A&M team.
Now, they don’t have any bad losses but Indiana’s only loss is to Ohio State and Boise lost a nail biter to Oregon.
If the most important metric is quality wins, Texas fails terribly in that department
