"It was important for me just to come see how they perform in a different atmosphere, so the game is going to be packed out and the crowd going to be loud, see how they react to adversity," Alford told InsideTheU.
"It's really a great direction. I feel like they're becoming more of a team every week. You see more of the team, they struggle in the first half and then they pick it up later on. I didn't see that today. They started off great and they finished great," Alford said.
"It's not place like home. I come in, I make an impact. I come in and play as a freshman. The man that's in my position, he's probably going to be gone when I come here, so that's just an open door for me to come in and make an impact," Alford said.
"It's definitely something I think about a lot," Alford said. "Depth chart matters. You want to get in and get on the field. You might not start your freshman year, but I want to get my feet wet and stuff like that and get that three and out and get to the league."
Alford is trying to decide whether he's going to move forward with Ohio State or perhaps stay home and play for the Hurricanes.
"Definitely. I don't really got a timeline, I'm just trying to get to it," Alford said.
