#1 - Get only 5 wins this year and miss a bowl game
#2 - Win the ACC, but the Gators win the NC

Which do you choose?

I choose option 3: Win the ACC and play in Pasadena as a 13-0 team.

That wasn't one of the options. Seriously, which would you choose?

Seriously, I choose option 3 as it seems more probably than the other two. There is something special brewing in Miami. Most of us are too jaded by the past 7-9 years to get our hopes up.

What actually seems more likely is Miami winning the ACC and as a 13-0 conference champion getting squeezed out of Pasadena by the BCS in favor of Ohio State and and a 1 loss SEC team.

Your two options are like asking, "Which would you burn off, your balls or your diick?"

I choose option 3, which I hope is not....,both.

We lose to the Gators and we can't/won't win the ACC. Gators lose to us and they won't be in Pasadena. Option 2 is essentially impossible. Option 1 is nearly as unlikely. Our team is better than last season while every other team on the schedule has taken a step back.

Gators are not in the ACC, so what does that have to do with being ACC Champs?

That's exactly the point. It's a question that reveals your values. To re-phrase, it's like asking, would you be willing to postpone your success if it meant not seeing your enemies succeed? Or, conversely, would you be willing to see your enemies succeed, if it means your team is making strides?

this boils down to

do you like to love your team more

or do you like to hate on other teams more

How long were you debating whether to post this before you post this gem?

Option 1: 12 Weeks

Option 2: Took the post from some other fan

If we lose to them we will likely lose to FSU on the road and Clemson if we make it to the title game. UF will have to out physical us to beat us and that's a weakness that proved significant for us last year . Because of that fact I won't have much faith that we will not have a let down somewhere along our ACC schedule. The Gators just weren't/aren't that good a team. They had a Notre Dame-esque year last year and could very well be a 4 loss team next season even with a W against Miami.

I don't buy the idea that just because you lose to team X means you'll lose to team Y. Doesn't always work that way.

Also, someone else brought up the scenario that the Gators could lose one game - to Miami, and because they're SEC, they'd probably be in the title game anyway.

Regardless, I'd pick option 2. If option 1 occurred, it would likely mean the program would be on the rocks and confidence would be lost in the coaching staff. Can't let that happen.
