Let's support our former assistant coaches when the Canes are not playing.

Coacb Huger has a record of 16-5 at Bowling Green.

Huger is a solid coach. I’m originally from Toledo and one of my brothers went to BGSU (where Coach L was pre-George Mason).

Never expected Dylan Frye to be as good as he became

I always thought he would be a four year player. He is a very good shooter. Congrats to Huger for getting him from Florida to Ohio. Frye found a good school for his skillset.
In fairness, he and DJ are the same player. Frye probably handles the ball better. Neither are athletic.

When those guys were here we looked like a completely different team. Always prepared, great in game adjustments, and knew how to finish games. I don’t even know what to say about us now. None of those things that’s for sure

Their last year on staff was 2015 and we went to the NIT. The first thee years after they left we went to three straight NCAA Tournaments including our last Sweet 16 appearance.

Very strange statement by you.

Everyone knew that NiT team was destined for a **** of a season the following year. Those 2 coaches provided a lot for L. Specifically on the offensive side of the ball. Wouldn’t surprise me if we went deeper in all 3 of those tournaments if those guys were on staff.

In their four years on staff we went to the NCAA Tournament once. In the 4 years after, three times.

So you wouldn't have been surprised if beat national champion Villanova in 2016?

Good one.

We were a better coached team when they were here. Period.

What I love about you is that never have any evidence for anything you say. We're just supposed to believe you. Period!

Despite the fact that, you know, every result-based piece of evidence points in the opposite direction.

Average record
2015-19: 23-12
2011-15: 21-12

NCAA Tournament Appearances
2015-19: 3
2011-15: 1

Not to mention that neither team that they currently coach has even reached a single NIT let alone an NCAA Tournament.

So in the last 8 completed seasons, teams coached by Huger and Konkol have one NCAA Tournament appearance.

Now you can like both of them. That's your right and I happened to like them too.

But stop substituting your preference for facts. Nothing that you said is factual. Period.

It has shown dramatically offensively. Our offense goes stagnant all the time because of this Bull**** 1 on 1 high ball screen offense we run to death

Points Per Game
2011-12: 70.7
2012-13: 69.7
2013-14: 61.5
2014-15: 68.2
------
2015-16: 75.2
2016-17: 69.0
2017-18: 73.8
2018-19: 71.8

Best (2015-16), second-best (2017-18) and third-best (2018-19) offensive seasons after Huger-Konkol left.

I'm waiting for one thing you say to match up with reality.

We were a better coached team when they were here.

It is difficult to do a comparison but over the last 8 years (not including this season) our best overall records were:

2012-13: 29-7 (15-3)
2015-16: 27-8 (13-5)
2014-15: 25-13 (10-8)

That 2014-15 team had 4 more wins and the exact same conference record as the 2016-17 team.

-----------------------

So those guys (Huger and Konkol) were here for 4 seasons and they left before 2015-16. Not including this season, we've had 4 seasons without them.

With Huger and Konkol

Total Wins: 91
Conference Wins: 41
Total Winning Percentage: 65.0%
Conference Winning Percentage: 58.6%
Losing Season(s): 0
Total Games: 140

Without Huger and Konkol

Total Wins: 84
Conference Wins: 39
Total Winning Percentage: 63.6%
Conference Winning Percentage: 54.1%
Losing Season(s): 1
Total Games: 132

So obviously we won more games (in-conference and OOC) with Huger and Konkol. We had a better winning percentage (in-conference and OOC) too.

-------------------

How about our Defense. An interesting stat is Points Allowed Per Season:

With Huger and Konkol

2011-12: 66.1
2012-13: 60.6
2013-14: 59.5
2014-15: 63.3

Average Points Allowed: 62.4

Without Huger and Konkol

2015-16: 67.4
2016-17: 64.1
2017-18: 67.8
2018-19: 71.1

Average Points Allowed: 67.6 We used to play much better defense.

How about the Scoring Margin:

With Huger and Konkol

2011-12: 4.6
2012-13: 9.1
2013-14: 2.0
2014-15: 4.9

Average Scoring Margin = 5.2

Without Huger and Konkol

2015-16: 7.8
2016-17: 4.9
2017-18: 5.9
2018-19: .7

Average Scoring Margin = 4.8

It is obvious we used to be a better team with Huger and Konkol.

Consigliere thank you for going through the trouble and doing that. Much appreciated

I trust my eye and watching every single possession of every game over L's tenure is all I need to draw conclusions. I don't think we need to break down detailed stats to see we operated at a higher level when they were here. For anyone that knows the game it's been rather obvious EVEN WITH A MASSIVE TALENT UPGRADE. Just look at the success they are having as young head coaches. That tells you all you need to know. You guys kill me that you come to the rescue for this coaching staff each and every chance you get. Wake up and smell the roses.
