All zoning for schools in FLA will be abandoned and parents/guardians will be able to send their child to any public school without penalty.

Example: 2018 WR Jermaine Eskeridge wouldn't have sat out this year after transferring to Tampa Jefferson if this rule was in effect last year.

Now we'll have juggernaut schools. This will be like Jamaican high school track and field. Despite over 300 schools participating in the track and field championships. Only 4 girls schools and 4 boys schools have won it since the 80s.

Horrible bill..... South Florida Kids are divas.. This will only phase out the local prospects out their community. SMH..

If you thought recruiting was a circus in Dade county, sh*t, wait until these cats feel a little bit of "False sense of entitlement" !

I am a high school coach and I have no problem with this bill. Kids are constantly transferring out of our public schools to the local private/prep schools. In Orlando alone we have * LHP, Trinity Prep, First Academy, Master's academy, OCP, Windermere Prep, Faith....IMO the same dominate teams will be even more dominate..I agree that this will create some power house teams but the AAU circuit/ 7 on 7 coaches will now be involved with high school more. That part of the equation I don't like because that's grimy.... but as we all know relationships will win out. Kids also need to get their own rides... This just legalized what already happens..

True! As a former youth coach and seeing what happens it's ****ed up for coaches at the "other" high schools. As soon as you coach up a couple good studs, the get recruited by the better teams. It's like the other schools serve as minor league programs for the better teams to recruit at. Like everything it will all balance out as schools decide if they will compete or be left behind.
