Why does Golden wait until week 9 and 10 to play younger guys on defense?

We waste **** near entire seasons of eligibility playing them solely on special teams and mop up duty while older, less-talented players get a majority of the snaps.

Why can't we get these players coached up and ready to go sooner? Right now I'm mostly referring to Kamalu, Carter and McCord.

I dunno Riddler, but maybe it has something to do with not being comfortable with the younger kids knowledge or grasp of the system.

I imagine (read hope) that it has to be because:

1) The young start to grasp the game better as the year goes on and they have more experience.

and/or

2) With the season pretty much over, the coaches are willing to play kids that aren't necessarily the best at their positions (yet), but they are willing to take the chance and put them in so they get experience.

Sucks to hear about Corn, kid was starting to get more reps and I really wanted to get a look at him in the return game.

Anyone know how A. Burns is doing? What was his injury?

Corch Al cant develop, everyone else dominates in college football starting freshmen from day 1, and having the starting roster consist of 65% frosh and soph, dont yall know this?

It isn't too hard to grasp. Run out there, miss tackles, line up wrong, try your best to get a LB or DE on the slot WR, and make sure RB screen passes to the left go for long TDs.

glad to see isodora and carter get some snaps. i think aqm and kamalu will make the jump next year. Mccord is always in position to make plays, he just isnt use to tackling in open field. they will fix that.

The Golden Process.....

tell the recruits that they wont be redshirted and will play immediately, then act like you were being truthful by letting them waist their eligibility on special teams.

I wonder how Jamal Carter was feeling watching AJ Highsmith all season get so many reps at safety? smh
