Yeah, and after what that sleazeball Loria did, its far from a slam dunk.

Dolphins management is actually negotiating and being VERY reasonable unlike the snakes over at Marlin's park.

People are stupid if they dont vote this through. The super bowl in Miami will happen often if we get that stadium up to goodells specifications. The money brought in by the super bowl is insane. Especially in a town like Miami

Didn't they come out with a study that refutes the idea that cities actually gain by hosting? I believe it said that cities end up losing money after all costs are actually accounted for.

I don't disagree with your thoughts. As a Dolphin fan, I've thought about this long and hard to conclude that Ross is giving much more than most. At this point, he's up to 2/3's of the project, plus cost overruns that he will pay for. No, it's not 100% which we all want but what owner in professional sports pays for it all? I can't think of one.

I believe Broward County should also put in money since they also benefit from the Super Bowl visitors and it will alleviate the costs .It would have have a better chance of voter approval with both counties pitching in.

but Broward already said they won't because they are smart.

why should they pay for anything when their dumb neighbors in dade will shoulder full cost? the people going to the stadium will end up dropping cash at Broward, so Broward wins.

The Dolphins will move all the parties and everything else to Miami-Dade county from now on since Broward won't be a part of this. Also, the Dolphins have to have 4 Super Bowls, 4 National Championship Games and a big time international soccer event and if not then the Dolphins have to repay some of the money. This is an amazing deal. The Super Bowls alone will pay for this entire project the first or second time through. This is a no doubter no what should be done.

Last one I can think of is Kraft in New England.

FLL hotels and surrounding areas would still benefit, greatly. That's the stuff that generates an economic impact.

You wonder what the Dolphins were thinking when they built the stadium this way to start with. It is horrible for football. You end up watching the game on the big screen.

I live in the midwest and go to a lot of road games but have only been to one game in Miami since the move to Sun Life and frankly have no desire to go back. Stadium sucks ***. A new improved stadium would get me on the plane a couple times a year. Until then I will go to GT, VT, FSU, Clemson, unc and the non con games.

As an understanding of what Joe Robbie was thinking, he built that stadium to be able to house football and baseball and soccer, Joe Robbie envisioned bringing major sporting events to South Florida, at the time all we had was the Dolphins. Unfortunately the detriment was the "home field factor" from the fans. But there is no denying because of Joe Robbie's investment into building the stadium and commitment to housing those sports it did bring baseball to South Florida, and for all the Central and South Americans in South Florida, which there is a large amount, it did bring major soccer events here. That's why he built the stadium that way to start with.
