"Sucks" for them

I don't think they will win 10 games during the regular season again.

If this guy leaves, he is taking 27 TDs from last season with him. He only had 5 TDs against us in 2013.

Agreed, they had alot of Veterans on that team. losing the OC, This QB and all those guys is going to hurt.

Would be a dumbass move all around but what do I know.

Why would it be such a dumbass move? The basis he was giving was that his mother back in California had brain surgery to remove a tumor and he wanted to be closer to her. While it may suck for Duke to allow him to transfer, I think it's the right thing to do. There's more to life than football.

The kid is from LA and mom had a Brain tumor removed in Dec, heck yeah he is transferring back so cal in order to closer to her.
I commend the young man, on choosing family first, not to mention he graduates in may anyway.

The real question is which school will he attend since both USC & UCLA are stocked at QB? That would leave San Diego St within a 2 hr drive to his mom.

Go Canes

Smart QB transferring from Duke back to a school in Cali?

Either Cal or Stanford, I'd think. Neither is Southern Cal, but they'd both be close enough, I'd think. Plus the academics match up with Duke as well.

Figures there is a caveat like that I didn't know about.

Connette also lost the starting Qb role to Boone the last 9 games. He became a situational QB after the 5th game- made 68 plays last 9 games...With Boone being a sr next season and more importantly his mother's illness, it is a good move.

this. And he already has acquired the most important item,a Duke degree.

Duke will be fine without their wildcat QB. He didnt do too much the 2nd half of the season besides run for 4 TD's vs Miami.

Smh in 2012 we won a shootout game against Duke because they could not stop Duke Johnson, in 2013 they had no answer for Stacy Coley as Miami was up early until he too got hurt in the 1st Quarter. We would have outscored them last year in a repeat of 2012 if either was still healthy for the last 3 Quarters of that game. I'm not worried about Duke as the odds are at least one of Duke Johnson or Stacy will be healthy and our defense couldn't be any worse than last year.

His mom had a brain tumor removed, and he wants to be closer to home. I wouldn't call that "a dumbass move." My overaching dilemma is trying to view the contiguous US in such a way that Miami is closer to the west coast than Duke. Regrettably, I can't make it happen.
