Strong Opinion Sports on Cristobal

Oregon as a job is a perennial 9 to 10 win team with the chance to strike lightning every so often and be in the title conversation. At Miami you can dominate not only your conference but the entire country. Doesn’t matter how much Nike money Oregon dumps into their football program they will never be that.

These guys are mad. They were desperate to keep the guy then acting like he was nothing. He put them in recruiting battles they had no business being in. They talk about Cristobal losing games he should win. At certain teams you have to get over the hump. Clemson was like that when Dabo took over. It took a while. Mario would have eventually won big at Oregon imo

No **** they’re ****ed, Mario left half his assistants to continue to convince kids how warm Miami is this time a year and how things are changing to get some kids to transfer in. I’d be ****ed too.

When Mario arrived in Oregon they had a losing record and had not gone to the Rose bowl in ages.He left them with a winning record ,two Rose bowls ,victory over Ohio Stare and three top recruiting classes.
They hadn't gone to the Rose Bowl in 3 years before Mario got there. Keep in mind, the decline was gradual under Helfrich, but let's stop pretending that they were trash for a long time before Mario got there. They had a **** of a run under Kelly, Helfrich inherited that and then things fell apart. He only lasted 4 years, and won 9+ games in 3 out of 4 years. His last year was bad and that got him canned. They didn't wait.

Yep, having that one special qb changes everything but it’s imperative to stack chips before that happens.

With all of their coaches getting stolen, when was their last coach fired? (I know I have Google, IDGAF. )

What's the legitimacy of the story Oregon pulling a 85mil/10year offer when they heard Mario was listening to offers from Miami?

Good vid. I agree with him. "Losing Mario to Miami cements Oregon as a stepping stone program."

Oregon had no chance when you step back and think about it. They offered $85 million, but with Oregon's state income tax rate of 9.9%, it ends up being less than Miami's offer. Mario's Mom is sick and Miami is his hometown.

I think this guy is overly obsessed with Lincoln Riley. He is a great coach, no doubt. However, Dabo has one down season and Riley's now head and shoulder better? Maybe, but until Riley wins a NC, ****, until he even coaches in a Championship game, let's hold off on the Riley>Dabo talk. As much of a dweeb as I think Dabo is, his teams did win 2 NC's over the past 5 years.

Does he have proof Oregon offered 10/$85 million? Let alone that they “pulled” that offer. I saw they supposedly offered over $7 million but didn’t see anything saying over $8 million.
