Most of my fellow CFB fans are not fans of this current system and agrees change is needed. Recent courts ruling JC players don’t lose eligibility, it seems we’re digging an already deep hole that will eventually collapse upon itself.

I’ve been a die hard Hurricane fan since 1993 and don’t foresee that changing but college football as a whole is losing something, certainly with this consumer and probably many others.

I think the playoff will probably have very big ratings, which won’t force anybody’s hand in power to make any changes for the better and that this slope will get even more slippery.

Can we see a “death” of cfb as we knew it? Would you turn away from this game?

Literally just got off the phone with a friend of mine (Georgia fan) talking about everything from NIL, NLI, Transfer Portal and all that. A few years ago he was arguing me down that everything would work itself out. 2-3 years later his tone has changed dramatically.

With this ruling JUCO is now a 2 year prep school. I get another year of eligibility back. There needs to be a salary cap for the NIL per team. It's the only way for the rich schools to buy their way into the CFP. Team chemistry is being destroyed and agents should not be handling college players to just feed off them when they continue to enter the portal for more money.

Yes and yes.

I'm glad CFB in its current state is exposing all the people who are genuinely bothered by players making money.

I hope it continues to get even crazier & push as many of you as possible away from the game in general.

Just watch Hockey, LaCrosse & Dressage.

"cOLLeGe fOoTbALL iS dEaD!"

Good, don't watch it anymore.

I'm sure there's plenty of unpaid Curling athletes yall can follow.

Hoping dressage can finally get the big network backing it deserves....

The only fix for college football is to create a players association to represent players and agree to a structure to compensate players and stabilize player movement in college football. Many here hate that idea and just want to go back to the old ways but this not going to happen.

I am all for players being able to earn income from playing college football. The exponential increase in TV revenue over the last few decades only only serves to prove the players deserve a large piece of that pie. No one watches college football to see Mario Cristobal run up and down the sideline for $8 million a year. Or any other coach, this isn’t a slam on Mario.

Biggest problem is there’s no governing body for the sport. The NCAA is a joke and conferences are in it for themselves not for the good of the sport.

Plenty of things could be done to course correct and appease everyone, but unfortunately no one is interested.

This.

Jay Bilas said it best. Anyone that has a real problem with the current state of big time college football, there’s plenty of lower division “pure” football out there. Go follow that.

Hey, at least they’re keeping the sport* of curling pure!!!

*Not convinced it actually qualifies as a “sport.”

Also, I’m not ashamed to admit that I have no idea what “dressage” is and I can’t be bothered to google it.

Exactly. I don't think most people care whether the players get paid or not. ****, most people realize they deserve it.

It's this total loss of control regarding the transfer portal that is really affecting the quality of the game. Guys are actually sitting out playoff games now. How do you build a team or develop players if most guys jump ship if they're not starters immediately?
