I'm not 100% sure if they are or not but the staff needs to turn it up on Donaldson because I know he is starting to visit other schools and you never want to see other schools show more love than the one you are currently committed to.

Is he saying he's not getting the love from our staff?

With Richt I'm a bit optimistic as he seems to know exactly what he's doing. If this were another tie wearing coaching walking around with his 3 ring binder i'd be very nervous. I'm just not sure Donaldson really wants to go anywhere else. I mean really he could go anywhere he wants, but yet he's still committed to Miami. Don't know maybe he has people in his ear. Who knows...

Serious question to you as a father of a committed recruit...Is something that you or you son tell the staff since you have access to them?

Donaldson is getting more attention because of the way he handled himself vs big time comp at the 5* challenge

I haven't talked to him but I heard he really liked his USC visit.

I've heard that USC is making a big push for him. His mom really wants him here and I don't see Miami losing out on their top offensive line target in Dade.

I would if I had access to them, but I haven't built a relationship with the staff as of yet so I don't feel that I am privy to calling them and telling them how to recruit.

Love how recruiting works these days. Guy "commits", guy then goes on visits all over the country to other schools, guy feels like he needs more love from the school he is currently committed to, guy holds staff hes committed to hostage until he rlly decides where he wants to go. Not picking on Donaldson alone here because its pretty much every South FL kid that does this. When you're a high 4 star talent like Donaldson why commit that early if you know you are going to be taking a ton of visits and you know **** well your not fully committed??? I get it if your a 3 star who gets an offer from a big school and you need to hold your spot in the class. But I will never understand why 4/5 star guys commit to a school, but then go on a million unoffical visits but still expect your current committed school to kiss your ***.

And for those that will say it is a once in a lifetime experience for the recruits, let them enjoy, I fully agree with that sentiment. But then don't COMMIT to a school. If you want to fully enjoy your process then act like Mcfarland. Name leaders, take all your visits, then once you have had your fun choose which schools fits you best.

All of this.

In the case of Donaldson, he committed to Miami and that was the only offer he had at the time. Again I am not sure of the relationship between him and the current staff at the moment so this may not even be an issue. USCw is a long way from Miami and those plane tickets will be pretty expensive for the family to fly out to every game but who knows what they are telling kids. I would encourage any recruit to not commit to a school until the summer after their junior year. Unfortunately you only get to do this cycle once in a lifetime and everybody has their own reasons for the choices that they make.

It's easy to say don't commit in hindsight but if you don't have someone that has been through it to guide you then I'm sure some will make the wrong decision.

Not worried.

Besides USC will fill up w spots soon on the OL. They have some solid guys committed already and are in the drivers seat for at least a couple more studs from what I read in an article recently-including a 5-star kid from AZ that will probably be a LT

I hear ya. Like I said I am not picking on Donaldson alone here because most of the SFLA kids do it. In reality we have no idea what's going on behind the scenes too. He may just have wanted to experience the big time camp out there and help himself get better as a player. And for all we know he has already told Richt and Co. it is no big deal and he is 100% committed. I just don't understand the whole commit to a school when your a sophomore or early jr yr, but then take all of your visits and waver the whole time. But it is what it is and this is what recruiting has become these days especially down here. Appreciate your insight and truly appreciate your son doing things the right way whether that was with Miami or another school.

"When a player commits, that's when the recruiting starts" Mark Richt. CMR understands the game. We never have to worry about him sitting on a recruit.

This kid looks like another Trent Williams. One of the most important recruits in the class.

Based on what CMR did in Georgia and early returns from his tenure here, I dont think we have to worry about this staff not actively recruiting someone we really want.
