St Thomas Aquinas

Coach Smith's teams had a different makeup than Rocco and Roger's teams. Coach Smith played a lot of over-achieving kids at strength and semi-strength positions and had some superstars at the skill positions and his teams were grittier. Rocco and now Roger, have way more talent at their disposal, but they don't appear to have as many gritty players as Coach Smith had. Those gritty players formed the backbone of Coach Smith's success, but they've been pushed out by the more talented kids who go there now. Some of the alums who played of Coach Smith will not send their kids to STA at this point.

As I pointed out earlier, those problems might disappear if STA had DECENT QB play. It is amazing to me that a school with that much talent can't find a QB. Compare and contrast STA with AH (which has two excellent HS QBs in Smith (although he can be erratic passing the ball)) and Gibbons (who has a great QB in Scalzo (a Flutie or Johnny Manziel type (without the drug issues)). Those teams are much better on offense and move the sticks consistently. If STA had a QB, it would cover up a lot of the problems.

They really are. The problem is Roger and his clowns are going to recruit every kid with a pulse so that this doesn't happen again. I bet they go after Scalzo.. kid is a baller.

I knew they wouldn’t get anywhere with that qb situation. You can beat the local drek on talent alone. Once you get in the playoffs you better have a decent qb. All the recruiting they do I’m astonished at how bad their QBs have been the last few years.

STA sounds like UM, circa 2002.

There LSU right now

They haven’t been half the team
Since coach Smith left

He didn't leave..he's the ad. They have a talent advantage in every game they play...they may have dropped 3 or 4 this year. Miramar handled them fairly easy a few weeks ago. Harriott is a corch..he needs a huge talent advantage to compete..had it and still loses. As bad as their qb game may be, starting still gas 3 div 1 rvs and 3-4 div 1 olmen. I'm gonna put it on coaching. Venice??..really?

They got away with it last year . STA will replace the coach soon . They don’t accept losing and don’t matter how many State title have

WHat happened to the BCAA? Gonna be tough to leave Gibbons once youve have attended school there, and gonna be a lot of coaches on campus with Bogle there...both football and basketball

sta's qb last year who is at uf now was a Gibbons transfer

STA's qb play has been bad to horrendous for a few years now. Seems they can recruit top notch players at every position but the most important one

Yup I saw STA play Gorman out here in Vegas when they lost in overtime. If they had average QB play in that game they would have won by 3 TD's. The play calling for that game was fine but the QB was the problem.

sta score 13 pounts against venice...like 4 other teams scored more than that against Venice. Braden River scored 30+ twice against them. So ya sta o is bad.,

Jaden Davis scored the big time cb in next class we should be on..as well as Daniel Carter stas rb who is a beast.

I didnt realize their long time ol coach retired this year...then they practically begged him to come back at the end of october.

STA churned out like 100 div 1 ol under him.

Time for Sta to go poach other teams talent

Sad, true, and funny all at the same time. I don't personally have anything against STA, but I sure don't mind seeing the transfer kings get taken down by anyone. Bull**** mercenary team.
