At the SEC Media days he talked specifically about in state rivals/schools and he importance of playing each other every year....even if you are in different conferences...USCe/Clemson.....UGA/GT......but he dodged Miami.....fa Ggot

Because he knows what he has at USCe is better than his in-state opponent, Clemson.

Probably didn't feel as confident when he was at UiF year in and year out.

Why would you ever think he'd speak from anywhere but a place of complete self interest and preservation?

I guess I call a spade a spade....I don't understand how/why someone can lie like that

Agreed. Even if he is right or one agrees with him, it is important to recognize this key piece of his motivation.

Spermier wasn't the problem...his pansy *** AD was and is...he was one of the only U*** coaches that didn't constantly whine about the oldest FLA rivalry.

UM

Spurrier is no hypocrite. he would have gladly played UM when he was at UF, but the AD refused to renew the series.

Spurrier is a **** of a college coach, the premier offensive mind of the 90s who revolutionized SEC offenses. And he always stated exactly what he was thinking, including countless jabs at UT and FSU.

I kinda like Spurrier.

Anyone else catch his comments about Saban at SEC Media days being the greatest recruiter ever? I kind of got the sense Spurrier was having some fun with it - a bit of tongue in cheek complement. I'm sure he knows better than anyone the kind of money Bama is throwing around.

Coach Spurrier is great coach. What he has done in Columbia is not far from a miracle. I know I live Columbia and went to USCe. I agree, he definitely would have welcomed playing Miami annually.

Question, can you guys imagine what type of team we would have now if Spurrier did decide to come to Miami and coach in 2007?

Hey, hey, hey. Ok, he is fun to listen to and maybe a little less slimy than others BUT he is still a friggin gator.

I am fairly sure he left for NFL the year when Miami and swamp slime were going to start playing again. Always assumed it was the rear end kicking he got the year before in the Sugar Bowl. Could be wrong. Spurrier is fun but not sure I could have coped with a gator as HC at THE U.

Spurrier is one of the few that tells it like it is. Hated him when he was a Gator. Like him now that he's at USCe.

He's genuine, in no way a hypocrite. He wasn't the one dodging Miami.

Spurrier is witty, entertaining and he has won big at every university where he's been a coach.

Not sure why you would think it was tongue n cheek. "The Crimson Tide wrapped up their third straight No. 1 class in February and have never finished outside of the top three in ESPN's rankings since Saban's first year in Tuscaloosa in 2007. With 16 current ESPN 300 commitments, they are well on their way to another top class."

Spurrier wins. That USC gig was and is a hard area to consistently win in.

If he was at Miami, he's love nothing better than whipping the crap out of UF. They crapped on Spurrier, and he's got a long memory.

Wish we had Spurrier over this **** bucket we have now. Can you imagine Spurrier keeping Dorito even one full season? Not going to happen - he hates losing.
