Football program (her son is on the team) and told me that 2013 LB Quinton Powell going to USC has a lot of hang ups, mainly that he has not passed the FCAT AND needs a higher SAT/ACT score. She said that he is probably going to be headed to prep school or JUCO and that per his parents, they would like him to stay in-state and are pushing him towards Miami. Not sure how it's going to work out academically for the kid, but if he is struggling with the FCAT, I don't know whether UM is even an option. Hopefully he can get his grades in orde. TFWIW.

If he thinks the FCAT is tough wait till he starts taking college courses.

I know some pretty ignant individuals that have passed the FCAT.

Better get smart in a hurry.

The FCAT was by far the easiest of those sh*tty standardized tests. Don't think he'll make it at Miami if he can't pass the got**** FCAT.

Get him to prep school and see what they can do for him. If they make it through Heargraves or whatever it's called, they're usually fine. AJL couldn't make it through though. Now he's at Marshall.

Powell's folks need to just ask him how he likes the state of West Va. Because that's what he's looking at if he doesn't buckle down.

I thought you had to pass the FCAT by 10th grade? Well it was 10 years ago so I don't remember.

Don't over estimate the sec as a redoubt of intellectual acumen! Just the same your point is well taken.
