As we near signing day, I'm starting to notice two big question marks in this year's recruiting cycle that have given me cause to question the methods the staff is using to recruit
1) We're only landing only one of the many blue chip recruits from Broward county (Jon Ford). How can a county with so much talent all turn their back on The U? I tend to agree with Franchise here, groups of "advisers" and bad upbringings tend to have drama filled kids that smear on our good school's name and get led to other schools for that reason.
2) Mike Rumph was the head coach at American Heritage for many, many years. He is about to lose not one, not two, but all of the top300 senior prospects this year to other programs (3 of them to Radio up at UF) Yes, count me in on believing he's a great coach and has shown promise as a developer of talent (Colbert), but it's absurd to just flat out miss on all these prospects that he mentored for years.
Call me cautiously optimistic on the future of this program under this staff. The last five games have made me hopeful for the first time in years. But let's not ignore that there are huge red flags that are already occurring on the supposed "first year recruiting bump" period that we're supposed to be enjoying right now. Something to monitor, I hope to be able to come back to this thread this time next year and see Rick correcting recruiting by landing all those stud 2018 broward DBs.
