South Florida has more safeties than a Korean honors student. You look at the NFL and college, and you'll see a long, illustrious legacy of safeties from Florida City to Jupiter. College coaches invade the region like red-headed agamas every year to find themselves a deep 3rd maestro. Last class was a bit weak (the 2022 class in South Florida was weak at every position except edge rusher) but I found myself enthralled with Darius Thomas and Marquis Lymon. This class is a bit deeper & I'm excited to see what these guys do in college.

King Mack, St. Thomas Aquinas (5'11"180) - Started out at Dillard. Mack has average size, but he makes up for it with his leadership skills, passion for the game, ball skills, instincts and track speed. 10.64 100, 21.43 200, 46.25 400. The kid is BLAZING. Hard hitter. Can even play some nickel & outside corner. Reminds me of an even more athletic Kam Kinchens. Uncle, Keith Ferguson, played at Ohio State & enjoyed a 10 year NFL career. Cousin, Tremain Mack, played for UM & the Cincinnati Bengals. Penn State signee.

Conrad Hussey, St. Thomas Aquinas (6'0" 190) - Hussey is the Tyson Campbell to Mack's Patrick Surtain II. Track athlete (10.9 100) and it shows on film. Explosive in open field & is like a 5-tool baseball player the way he can do it all. Can play nickel as well. King Mack got all of the hype, but Conrad Hussey is just as good. FSU signee.

Daemon ***an, American Heritage (6'2" 170) - Lanky centerfielder that is a natural in the deep 3rd. Physically very raw & will need to hibernate in the weight room. Despite being so thin, is very physical & will make a big hit. Was a hotly-recruited prospect early but recruitment died down somewhat. NC State signee.

Jesse Anderson, Cardinal Gibbons (6'0" 180) - Plays both WR and S and excelled at both spots. Rangy and athletic and will come up to make a rude introduction to the ball carrier. Special teams ace that will immediately contribute there. Pittsburgh signee.
Harlem Howard, Blanche Ely (6'1" 175) - Deerfield Beach transfer. Elite playmaker, 80% of his film is picks and forced fumbles. Elite ballhawk (15 interceptions last two years of high school.) Elite punt returner and will provide value there as well. Will need to add mass. Also lettered in basketball and track. Extremely underrated. Along with Zakaih Saez & Tastean Reddicks, Oregon State snuck some gems out of South Florida.

Jamari Holliman, Norland (6'1" 180) - Plays both corner and safety but I love his ranginess at FS. Good track athlete (11.20 100, 49.35 400, 42'2.75" triple jump) and it shows on film. Very technically sound. Good ball skills. 3 picks and 18 PBUs as a junior. Underrated. FIU signee.

Zayden Laing-Taylor, Miami Central (6'0" 190) - Monsignor Pace transfer. Big time player that makes big time plays. Integral piece to Central's last two title runs. Plays both CB and S and could play either at the next level. Natural cover skills with good footwork and excellent closing speed. Good ball skills. Underrated. Akron signee.

Antonio Smith, Gulliver Prep (6'3" 190) - Prototypical safety size & length. Good pursuit & angles. Played mostly corner in high school. Less-than-stellar athleticism (12.15 100) but makes up for it with instincts & length. FAU signee.

Mark-Allen ***, Miami Central (6'0" 185) - Started out at Columbus, before briefly transferring to Palmetto spring 2021, then playing his junior year at Killian, then finishing up his senior year on 95th Street. Played LB earlier in his career & it translates to his violent hitting style. Rangy in coverage with good technique. Suffered season ending injuries as a junior and senior, which leaves huge red flags. 4.1 GPA. Mom played basketball at UM. Central Michigan signee.

Fabian Scott, Booker T. Washington (6'3" 170) - Miami High transfer. Extremely long (#pause) with good range. Rail thin and will need to see a weight room. FAU signee.

Ahmere Foster, Columbus (5'10" 155) - Track athlete (11.22 100, 21.62 200) with great range and agility. Played both WR and DB. Can take a shallow crosser to the house on offense, and is a feisty nickel/FS on defense. Can come up in run support. Marshall signee.

Mahki Rolle, North Miami Beach (6'2" 185) - High school QB that also plays a little safety. Athletic on offense with good agility. Will come up and knock your lights out on defense. Northern Illinois signee.
David Jester, Homestead (6'3" 180) - Played varsity at Everglades Prep as an 8th grader, then played at Doral Academy as a freshman, before finishing his career at Homestead. Played receiver earlier in his career & had a lot of hype there. Rangy on defense with good size for the position. Hits with the shoulder instead of form tackling & needs to nip that in the bud. Akron signee.

Mister Clark, Carol City (6'0" 165) - 4 picks & 14 PBUs as a senior. Also returns kicks. Good range & closes on the ball well. FIU signee.

James Jackson III, Pahokee (6'0" 180) - 56 tackles, 4 picks (2 taken to crib) and 10 PBUs as a senior. Game winning 53 yard pick 6 to knock the Benjamin School out of playoffs. Average size, average athleticism (23.11 200) but exceptional football IQ. Right at home in deep coverage. Has the toughness of a Muck kid. Middle Tennessee State signee. *audible crying sounds*

Jeno Junius Jr., Chaminade Madonna (5'11" 190) - Sawed off LB that projects at safety due to smallish frame. 129 tackles, 6.5 sacks, 17 TFLs as senior. Team captain. Good change of direction & striking ability. Western Carolina signee.

Bijay Boldin, Pahokee (6'2" 200) - Also plays WR. Team captain as junior and senior. Much better athlete on film than his track times suggest (1:06.30 400, 5'5.75" high jump.) Wins with ball skills & exceptional football IQ. 3.9 GPA. First athlete in Pahokee High's history to receive an Ivy League offer. Georgetown signee.

Vinny Pierre, Cardinal Newman (6'1" 190) - Playmaker with football IQ. Has a nose for the ball. Muscular frame & could grow into LB. Southern Illinois signee.

Darriel Cannon, Gulliver Prep (5'10" 165) - Rangy & physical. Can play all over the secondary. Makes music under the name "FatCat" and is pretty successful, with over 120K IG followers & his biggest song having 4.9 million views on YouTube. Charleston Southern signee.

So was it true we weren't allowed to recruit STA kids last year because of JT ties with them?

Because if not how in the **** do we miss on King Mack…First I've heard he was Tremaine Mack's nephew. He should definitely have been a cane.

Over first 2 minutes of Mack highlights he straight housing everything, punts, kickoffs, int, lol.. I know penn st love speed traits so it makes sense.. For some reason I thought Hussey was going there also, I see he ended up at FSU..

he decommitted an went to fsu if i can remember.

I see both being good..sucks Hussey is playing for those bums.

Last year safety class appears to be the goods on paper.

I'd say its more than to work with than this year.

I cant wait for @DMoney's 24 position class guys

DB was a major failure last cycle. There's a reason DVD is at FIU and Addae is on notice. We really need to close with Patterson and figure out how to flip Robinson. If Heyward's "issue" gets worked out and he's a take (and turns out not to be a distraction), that's a good start.
