This year is extremely light at defensive tackle. We have one bonafide superstar, then there's the other guys *Ice-T voice* Let's get to it.

Rueben Bain, Miami Central (6'2" 255) - Played varsity at Mater Academy as an 8th grader. Arguably the most prolific defensive lineman in Dade County history. 77 sacks & over 150 TFLs in high school career. Elite motor. Great agility. Elite read & reactor. Elite first step. Shoots into gaps like my Zastava ZPAP92. I can see him bulking up between 285-300 and wreaking absolute havoc on ACC offensive lines. Brother, Reggie, was a 4 year starter on the DL for FAU. Uncle, Tolbert, was a defensive back for Miami in the 80s. Miami signee.

Jason Hammond, St. Thomas Aquinas (6'3" 280) - Chaminade Madonna transfer. Great twitch and agility. Plays edge in high school & has great first step. Played offense earlier in career. Wanna know how athletic he is? THE KID PLAYS SAFETY AS WELL! 7 sacks, 16 TFLs and 2 picks as a senior. Cousin, Jaleel Johnson, starred at Iowa & currently plays for the Tennessee Titans. Virginia signee.

Wayne Peart, Chaminade Madonna (6'4" 290) - Wins reps with brute strength, great hand placement & good motor. 18 sacks and 34.5 TFLs last two seasons of high school. Ideal DT frame. A bit doughy and will need some body recomp in college. Power forward on the basketball team. Underrated. Toledo signee.

Dairo Melendez, LaSalle (6'0" 270) - Fire hydrant with twitch. Also lined up at edge & performed admirably there. Productive, finished career with 11.5 sacks and 36.5 TFLs. District qualifier in the shot put and discus. Coastal Carolina signee.

Bain goes without saying. I'm a big Wayne Peart fan as well. I like Jason Hammond but I think he would've done better if he stuck with his Iowa State commitment.
