Three of the top corners in the NFL are Patrick Peterson (Broward), Xavier Rhodes (Miami-Dade) and Janoris Jenkins (Palm Beach). This is a region that produces corners. But I can’t remember a class with this much size and ability. There are several NFL starters in this group and a bunch of guys who will make waves in college.

Tyson Campbell- 6’3, 181, 4.47* (American Heritage)- One of the biggest freaks we’ve ever had down here. State champion in 100M (10.4) and 200M (20.8). Already huge and may not be done growing. Willing tackler who could also play safety. Reminds me of a bigger, faster Artie Burns.

Patrick Surtain, Jr.- 6’2, 192, 4.57* (American Heritage)- It’s rare to have a prospect like Tyson Campbell. It’s even more rare to have a guy like Surtain in the same class. And it’s unthinkable to have two corners that gifted on the same HS team. Like Campbell, Surtain is big and fast (10.87 100M) but he has the added ability to score with the ball in his hands. Still not a finished product at corner.

Al Blades, Jr.- 6’, 170* (St. Thomas)- Aggressive, wiry corner with a big personality. Dominates top receivers in camp settings. Excellent feet. 3.95 verified shuttle as a sophomore. Quicker than fast. Plays in a rotation with 2019 stud Jaden Davis. Can be too aggressive at times and needs to improve his patience. A coach like Rumph is perfect for him.

DJ Ivey- 6’1, 170* (South Dade)- Long, lanky corner with the feet of a little man. Extremely smooth and fluid. Missed most of his junior year but exploded as a senior with 5 INTs. Excellent IQ and recognition skills. Speed is the only thing holding him back from five-star status.

Asante Samuel, Jr.- 5’9.5, 165* (St. Thomas)- Maybe the best high school corner on the list. Elite feet and balance. Makes plays on the ball like his father. Big-time special teams player who has blocked multiple kicks. Has some Vernon Hargreaves, Jr. in his game. Lacks great size and speed but is a pure player.

Keidron Smith- 6’2, 180, 4.72*(Oxbridge)- Ascendant athlete. Excels in basketball and brings some of that explosion and coordination to the corner position. I’ve heard comparisons to a taller Corn Elder and it fits. Flashes physicality.

Divaad Wilson- 6’, 180, 4.62* (Northwestern)- Looks the part of an elite corner. Long arms, sturdy frame and excellent athleticism. Strong hands to snatch INTs. I’ve heard mixed things about his mental makeup but he has sky-high upside.
