During Wesley Bissainthe's recent media availability, the second-year linebacker discussed his personal progress as well as the other players at his position.

Practice, according to Bissainthe, is all about consistency. "It's just a matter of just being consistent, you know. Just going out there doing it every day." His reflections revealed a significant evolution in his perspective from the previous year. "When I came in last year, everything was moving fast. Now, everything's slower. It's not just a matter of knowing what you're doing but making plays." He noted that by the last few games of the previous season, his role as a starter allowed him to better acclimate, and the game began to "slow down" for him.

Bissainthe was asked about one of his new teammates KJ Cloyd, to which he had nothing but praise, noting that KJ is both a "great leader" and "great athlete."
Bissainthe expressed a preference for the current defense strategy over the previous year, calling it more intricate and fast-paced. "I love this defense way better. It's more complex; we can hit you from all different types of directions, and we're coming at you full speed."

When questioned about the progress of the true freshman linebackers, Bissainthe drew parallels between their current journey and his own early experiences. "They're learning. They see how everything moves. They're like me when I first came in. But they're getting better every day." Among the newer members, Raul “Popo” Aguirre, in particular, caught Bissainthe's eye due to his dedication to understanding the defense and his knack for making plays.

Regarding his own teammates, Bissainthe had nothing but admiration for Francisco Mauigoa, or as he called him, "Kiko". Citing Francisco's size, intelligence, and abilities, Bissainthe expressed his gratitude for having such a dependable teammate. Another notable mention was Reuben Bain, who was his former high school teammate at Miami Central., Bissainthe expressed excitement. "It's great having Reuben back. He's big, strong, fast, and can make plays."

Bissainthe mentioned the need for more consistency in his performance during practice. "I feel like I've been doing pretty good," he mused, reflecting on his performance over the past six days. Another standout teammate in his eyes, Keontra Smith, was highlighted as someone to watch in the upcoming season. "He's been balling. I feel like he's going to do some big things this year with us."

Before wrapping up, Bissainthe expressed a personal goal: "I've been getting a lot of sacks, but an interception is on my bucket list."
