Sony Michel

Wasn't his sisters husband on here bragging about the escalade Sony got?

If so, then Richt knows how to recruit, right?

You know when Richt was first hired, I thought he was a sneaky bagman recruiter dressed in pastor robes (it's how he got Sony, after all). But the more and more I read about boosters at UGA being at odds at Richt, the more I'm realizing that Richt was real hesitant to play the bag game at UGA and that's what led to his undoing there.
That’s the worst case for Um. Tolerate enough to get caught, not enough to win big.

Mike Rumph.

Really good at getting kids NOT to come to UM. Thats about it.

Welcome back. Keep this up and you'll be taking another vacation.

Tederall Slaton, Marco Wilson, Brian Burns, Tarvarus McFadden, Torrance Gibson, Sony Michel, Isaiah Mckenzie, Quincy Wilson......

We had 2 former Hurricanes at AH. I think it's a fair complaint that the only kid we got in the last couple years was Herbert. You can blame bags, Fat Al, or the elder Wilson - but Rumph has let us down in recruiting that school SO FAR. Either he didn't push kids to UM or he wasn't a part of their decision making process. I find neither of those acceptable. Now, he COULD redeem himself this year.
Rumph didn't work for Miami before last year.

You guys are hilarious if you think kids go where their coaches want them to go.

Sadly........ Many and I mean many think this which makes recruiting unbearable at this time seeing so many posters post dumb ****

How about a father figure? Would that guy have a say in a recruits decision? Also, you are naive if you don't think a coach plays a part in the process. Yes, he doesn't have the power to say - you must go to this school. However, a good coach is a role model, and a good kid will listen when he talks. The influence may be subtle, and the kid might not know it's even there. If a kid likes and trusts his coach that definitely would help.

Indeed hesskilla. Of course HS coaches have an influence on where kids go to play college football. Some have tremendous influence. It's not even debatable. Why would a major D1 program hire a high school coach as an assistant if that coach had no influence on where big time players he coached would end up? Those programs absolutely expect that that coach will deliver the kids he coached up that they want.

This cycle Rumph has gotten us off to a great start as far as DB recruiting is concerned, Blades and Ivey, for example, are the real deal, but to this point, he has not done as well in bringing AH kids to us and that is a concern. I see Nesta out there, but he's still out there and not signed, not to mention Campbell and the rest of the AH kids. If he helps get us Nesta, Campbell, and Chatfield, I'll feel like he's hit a homerun. If he gets none of them, he's failed.
