It’s not just about the recruits evaluating Miami. The coaches are also evaluating the recruits.

The Covid dead period costs teams the opportunity to observe body types, personalities and other traits that are best seen in person.

Expect kids to show up bigger and smaller than expected, which will result in different pushes going forward. Some kids will impress with their attitudes, others will raise red flags.

It will be very telling if you see us turn up the heat on certain kids after this week.

this ... they haven't seen some of these players on a year plus ... it's nice that we can actually get them all on campus, that being said, each coach is gonna have rabbit ears as their gonna try to gather as much info as possible

That's why it's so great they're pulling in all the top kids onto campus so they can have the right benchmarks. No Al Golden camps where Larry Hope or Nate Dortch outshines the unnamed masses.

Wasn't it Brashard who grew like 2 inches and added 20 pounds between his junior and senior year, while getting faster? A lot can happen with a season or two of no contact.

Completely agree which is another reason not freaking out over only 2 committs. Need to give the staff a chance to actually meet the kids in person.

This is a great point. You can bet anyone we turn the heat up on have either stayed looking right or made a big jump.

Either way, great way to keep things in perspective and realize recruit John Doe in 2020 may look a lot different than he does in 2021, for better or worse.

that's the common misconception that university of miami is in the heart of miami, while in fact it's in coral gables, which is more affluent
It is a big misconception. But unfortunately, the news doesn't distinguish the difference. Until you get on campus and get the proverbial "lay of the land" it's just "miami". It's the same thing with the perception of the size of the University; most people oos think it's huge, like FSU or UF.

Hopefully most of the recruits that will be on campus this week know a bit more than the average person watching tv...

This scorching hot take is a giant pile of bull****.
