Some UM Faculty Upset with Mario’s Deal

From the article: “Many UM professors and other faculty — forced to teach in person…”

So a couple of snowflake justice warrior teachers at UM decided to vent their envy publicily, meanwhile they’re also complaining about having to teach “in person“.

Poor little teachers, have to actually show up to work - how sad.

Boo hoo.

Shut the fūck up and just fūcking teach, you whiny little beetches.
Meanwhile, the athletes who make the school millions more than any teacher, are also forced to do their sport in person (and were forced to do so at the height of the pandemic). Do those same professors support paying the athletes??? Bet not.

“This is an investment in the overall reputation of the University of Miami,” said one source who is familiar with university’s new direction but is not authorized to speak publicly. “We are investing money from one of the [departments, namely the UM healthcare system], to strengthen the institution as a whole.”

Since the article is littered with anonymous sources, I'll state that a well-placed anonymous source completely contradicts the statement that the football money is coming from UHealth.

So this is basically a hit piece. Someone check the author's connections and motivations.
Probably somebody who was cut out of TGIF decision making. Zero chance a professor knows that it’s a $100 million. It’s definitely a hit piece.

Sounds like a lot of crying and complaining, trying to pin this on Mario when there’s concrete proof the funds for his contract came from boosters and not from slashed pay from academic employees.

Ill stay out of X’s and O’s When it comes to proper compensations, but to blame Mario…that’s petty and smells like Epstein.

Besides, when’s the last time Sandra Kelly from Psych 101 generated significant revenue for the university?
Good thing I hired a contractor to add another wing to the bat cave.

Take a look at academic rankings and investment into Alabama after Saban was hired and their continued success. The football program has generated millions upon millions of dollars not only for the sports programs but also into expanding their academic programs. They get 10x more applications from students because everyone wants to go to a school that has a top football program.
Most recently, look at Jackson St. now.

I think the bigger issue is how many administrators are there now? I know Yale has more administration than students.

I've been forced to go to work in person since the pandemic. With no hazard pay, didnt even have ******* hand sanitizer in the facility until may of 2020. Masks came in June, and my company STILL doesn't have an articulate policy in regards to covid in place. And these people making anywhere between 75-120k/year (if im looking at the median payrate of the profession correctly) have the audacity to do this woe is me ****.

Where do I go to have an article written?
Did those schools have an upset BOT member because he was left out of the loop? Did they have an upset ex mayor because his son got fired? Probably who brought a sleazy reporter in to stir up sh it. Most schools have professors who complain. Just does not get brought to national attention by sleaseballs.

I deleted his comment for bringing politics into the discussion.

I’m not sure about Main campus, but we in the medical campus DO make millions of dollars for the university and our salaries are not going up.
And hence....

UHealth has become a growing patient care system with a pesky university attached.

Not the other way around.
