No inside sources on this and obviously the hire hasn't been officially announced yet but put together logical list of names that could join Lucas' staff at Miami:

Darrin Horn - Current HC at Northern Kentucky. He's making about $600k per year so could potentially make more at Miami as Associate HC. Associate HC at Texas under Shaka Smart and former HC at Western Kentucky and South Carolina.

Luke Yaklich - Taking the year off after being let go as HC at UIllinois-Chicago. Was Associate HC at Michigan under John Beilein before getting hired at Texas.

Orlando Antigua - Current Associate HC at Illinois. Worked with Lucas at Kentucky and has HC experience at USF. Grew up in NYC so could be interested in move back east, especially for a prominent role.

Mike Morrell - Current HC at UNC-Asheville but would make far more as an Associate HC at Miami. Assistant with Lucas for several years at Texas.

David Cason - Currently Associate HC at Oklahoma State. Was assistant under Smart at Texas before moving to FGCU to be Associate HC and then Associate HC at FIU.

Neill Barry - Smart's lead assistant at Marquette. Was an assistant at Texas with Lucas prior and also worked with Horn at WKU.

Bryan Lentz - Currently on Rick Barnes' staff at Tennessee. Was the video coordinator at Texas before moving on to App State and then Tennessee.

Fun fact: My dad was coaching with coach Horn and went to March when they were both at WKU

From Canesport/ON3:

Andrew Moran is the head coach at Miami Columbus, a major part of the development of the Boozer twins.

James “Bruiser” Flint is the former head coach at Drexel who is currently on the staff at Arkansas. He was on John Calipari’s staff at Kentucky three years ago with Lucas before Lucas moved to Duke. Flint was Calipari’s successor at Massachusetts after being on his staff for seven years. Flint spent the 2020-21 season as a Kentucky assistant before becoming associate to the head coach and later moving to Arkansas with Calipari.

Buffington is in his second season as the Texas Tech men’s basketball General Manager. One of the most respected grassroots basketball organizers in the country, Buffington arrived at Tech after founding and operating TheTB5Reports in Dallas and helped the Red Raiders advance to the 2024 NCAA Tournament in his first season.

Rachel Baker was hired to the newly-created position of general manager for Duke basketball in June 2022. She helps players enhance their personal and professional skill sets, capitalize on strategic partnerships, including NIL opportunities, and works to support players.
