Yes, Belk runs the 4-2-5.

Our Viper position is called the Bandit for them, it’s just the Weak side DE.

They run the same kinda of Nickel that we did, it’s just they use a CB in place of Striker, but they have a lot of same similar 3 Safety looks that we used to use with JaQuan, Redwine & Carter (Jamal/Amari)

They didn’t, because he’s kinda silly & he’s more like one of them than a natural authority figure.

They love him, they just don’t fear him & as a coach it’s kinda hard to convince kids to listen to you if they look at you as one of their homies instead of their superior.

Our DBs this year were bad and guys like Couch regressed badly there’s no doubt about that. How much is on him I’m not sure

But I’m with you this isn’t the blow people are making it out to be though I do think he could have been valuable for us

I mean, he was valuable. He really is a great guy and a great recruiter. Players tune in...its just that his coaching will not blow you away..his track record shows that

Coached QBs like Brandon Wheedon, Geno Smith, Johnny Manziel to record setting seasons and got arguably more out of these guys than the NFL could get out of them.

Current HC at Texas State making $800k a year, but he took an entire class of transfer portal guys last year and is now persona non-grata with Texas HS Coaches. He's a dead man walking at one of the hardest jobs in D1.

This seems like a better option than Candle, Briles, Ponce, etc. That's an elite QB coach pedigree.

What do the scheme guys think?

We aren't paying Mario to make homer decisions. He needs to nail these hires and bring in the best coaches possible. I'd actually be MORE disappointed if Mario screws these hires up than if Manny did.
