I know you're joking, but I am guessing many won't. He's clearly talking about facilities for the community not baseball and basketball facilities for the U. FWIW my doubts about TP, for years, not with Ruiz particularly, have been centered around the fact that they'd have to take public park land and repurpose it for a stadium and a ton of parking for a private university to use 7-8 days a year. Doesn't really pass the smell test to me. So at least he's aware that any proposal would have to include a massive improvement in the overall TP facilities that are there for public use. Like baseball fields and basketball courts, etc. Think K-12 and community sports leagues, etc. benefiting from the improvements year round.

The satin jacket is cool, but I really hope we start moving away from the nostalgic aesthetic. The uniforms are fine of course.

I erased my post (I don't mind that you quoted it) because I might be slightly exaggerating and I am too lazy to do the math, but my point is it's close. A 10 min drive or 1 hour walk.
You were pretty close as shown by the Google maps below. Around 20 years ago I had a buddy that lived in that little gray area above the 4.8 miles box near 67th avenue and there was a ton of students that lived from there all the way to the school. I realize it may not be the same now with the growth of Brickell and surrounding areas but I would imagine there’s still a good amount of students in that area. As you know this is taking you to the schools main entrance on Ponce when in reality once you cross over 57th avenue on Miller you’re practically on Campus.

Yeah, essentially it's really like 3 miles flat from the edge of campus near the IM fields to the entrance of Tropical Park. I too definitely remember a lot of students living off campus in the area you referenced.
