First make sure they're completely dry. Make sure your logs are also extremely well seasoned and as dry as possible. Note that different types of wood will flame up better than just smolder and heat. Next build a fire in a pit or barrel with lots of good ventilation around the sides and bottom. Get a good red hot coal base then carefully build a tall pyramid with some thinner logs on top (more surface area to burn). Place the clothes as thin and wide as possible across this truss. Do not bundle them up. You need to make sure enough oxygen can get up in them. Grill medium-well then flip over for final destruction. Note that certain fabrics may burn better or worse than others. Synthetics especially will burn and scar skin if you get any on you. Most importantly: When it's over it's over. Give yourself permission to move on.
