Why don't people find Dorsey very intriguing? Is it only because he hasn't formally called plays before?

It's not that he's an ex-player/Miami guy. He would be very interesting whether he was here before or not. His 5 years of results with Cam and 2 with Josh at the highest level of football should be intriguing in itself.

And he brought Kendal Briles with him to change that culture.

It also still wouldn’t explain why Arkansas has made such a huge jump in the offensive rankings under Briles.

You don’t “culture” your way to that kind of leap. You offensive genius your way to it.

I'd rather have Brady, but Kendal Briles would be a strong hire.

This is a totally reasonable take. I would prefer Briles, but certainly either one would be a trouser-removing hire.

The people who completely dismiss Briles like he's not more than a worthy candidate are lobotomy patients who can't be fixed, unfortunately. Living brain donors.

yes. I’m saying the fish rots from the head.

And Briles significantly improved their scoring.

You’re just trying too hard here. This was the team whose offensive line the entire country was laughing at for a year. And continued to laugh at during that season. And then continued to laugh at after Taggart was fired.

You wanted Briles to do what with it?
I watch a lot of FSU down here in SFL because they're always on. They were baaad. I rarely have strong opinions on coordinators from other schools b/c it rarely makes an impression for me one way or another but I distinctly recall all the discussion here when FSU hired Briles and how it was a good hire and then being really unimpressed with what I saw.

My problems with Dorsey:

1. What type of offense would he run? I have no clue. Yes, he's been around NFL OCs and different offenses, but what would HE run? Also, NFL is much more complex. Simpler is better at the collegiate level because of limited practice time.

2. Bills will make a deep playoff run. At the earliest, we would have to wait until mid-January. Not worth it for a first-time playcaller, IMO.

The timing just isn't right. I think he's an NFL guy at this point in his coaching career. He will be an NFL OC very soon.

Daboll runs a college offense that is more complex. But its really backyard football at times.

Its fun to watch, although I support New England.

It's asking a lot to take an offense from the 100s to top 25 without any major personnel upgrades, especially when the head coach is a boob.
