let’s hope not. i’d say we’ll spend over 1.5M extra on coordinators. the coordinators is what has to be the home run hire, imo. i’m cool with a staff full of ace recruiters.
If I had to guess Briles and Schumann (if they are the hires) will earn $1.5m each. That’s $3m. I assume Mirabal will go close to $800k given where he was. TRob I assume is close to $600 so maybe he goes to $750k. That’s $4.5m for 4/10.

Hayward coached OLBs as in a nickels/striker coach, not a edge type coach.

Bring him coach corners or safeties but imo a nickels (OLB) is almost useless unless he’s coaching ST too. Could bring more value to a defensive staff.

Field is a good recruiter but he’s not touching Coley lol. IMO, I’d try to get both on staff. Fields coached RB before, or can let Coley do it. Other can have TE.

Ah, didn’t know that.
Eh, lol.

I partially agree but I also don’t think that’s an entirely fair context. I think we made an effort to get people Oregon didn’t have including Joe Brady, Charlie Partridge and Seider.

Raymond was a miss. I think we were late to that party but @Cribby would know. TRob is an upgrade to his Oregon Staff. Mirabal is one of the top guys at his position as is McClendon so I don’t know why you would complain about those guys as they are also from his Oregon staff

As I understand it, with his kids in school, Seider wasn’t leaving Penn State without a co-OC title. UiF tried as well. I didnt love the Mastro hire but @Brooklyndee says he’s a good hire and he turned down the OC job at Nevada.

We talked to Partridge. Again I’ll defer to Cribby but I’m pretty sure he wanted a title we couldn’t give. Salave’a is considered one of the better DL coaches out there and we got him. So what if he was at Oregon.

Oregon did not have the Coordinators we are rumored to be getting. If Schumann and Briles happen, that’s a huge upgrade over what was at Oregon in terms of splash and how I think they’ll do here vs if we had the Oregon DC and OC. I’d love to have Lashlee but he got a HC job. Joe Brady is staying in the NFL.

It seems to me that we got the better guys off of Oregon’s staff - all an upgrade over what we had - and we’re adding some in demand coordinators. These guys don’t grow on trees. We’re still subject to what’s out there and who is willing to make a lateral move.
Point some have been trying to get across: That’s too many pretty big “misses” that we wouldn’t even fret about if weren’t so **** intent about the rumor mill….(Seider, Partridge, Brady, Raymond)

Sit back and wash the spinach cuz it’s getting silly at this point and looking like we are taking L’s because of the guesswork and rumoring…

DVD needs to be moved to recruiting role only. I just feel it’s a wasted coaches spot when you split the secondary with two coaches but I’ll wait and see how it shakes out
I am fine with replacing DVD BUT I Absolutely disagree with having 1 coach for safties and CB. The positions are so different and require different skill sets and different drills. I thinking it is essential to have a CB coach and a Safties coach. I don't even think it is up for debate.

If we landed all of those guys we might have the top staff in all of CFB - but definitely Top 5. That’s not a reasonable expectation. If we land the staff I mentioned, how many staffs are better than ours?

None in the ACC, 1-3 in the SEC, 1 in the Big, 0-1 in the PAC.

You guys are chasing unicorns to quote @Go Canes!!

Go ahead and name all of the staffs that are better than the ones it appears we have. Not many.

Which is all pretty much what I said. We are just either getting Oregon's staff or keeping guys we already had (Fields+TRob) EXCEPT for the coordinators. I'm just pointing out people were saying before money was gunna be no issue and Cristobal was going to be able to pull an elite staff... I'm just pointing out the only thing really true about that appears to be regarding OC/DC... But he needs to nail those picks.

I bet you we could fund this staff with the money we had available to us last year (based on what these guys were all being paid by Oregon) is my point. We had Lashlee as probably one of highest paid OCs in nation. Diaz had available the funds to pay for top DC, he chose not to....

I'm also not even really complaining at all btw.

But Lashlee was already a top paid coordinator and everybody is saying Diaz had the funding available for a top DC, he chose not to use it though

In a month we’ve gone from a Top 50 to a top 10 coaching staff and dudes are *****ing. In 2 weeks Mario brought in Skinner and Kelly but missed on some transfers who chose the $EC and dudes are crying fail fail fail.

You guys fail as fans. You’re unrealistic. The dude gets to show us what he can do in his 2023 bump class. Everything happening now is gravy. He just got here and we had no one.

Get some ******* perspective.

Guys turned down more money because it didn’t come with a title. If we gave those guys the title we don’t get the coordinators.

Without Field steadily recruiting him and maintaining the relationship throughout the process and giving Saban a battle Mario is not able to close him. Without that pre-withstanding relationship that doesn’t happen…..PERIOD!
Like I said. Dude wasn’t giving a shît about field or Miami until mario came period

Maybe... But there multiple titles to use. Assistant HC. Co-oc/dc .. uga doesn't seem to have a problem with multiple guys with DC title...

I'm fine with the position coach hires, but I expect top OC/DC AND some great analyst hires...

We’re starting from run of the mill program. UGA is starting from Top 3 program right now. We’re nowhere near them as a standard right now.

It’s unbelievable that you even have to explain this let alone argue with people. They’re just looking to pick the new coach apart right off the bat.

Skinner and Kelly literally said the change to Mario was the difference yet they want to ignore that and just bîtch.
