Sosa, vizquel, and Todd Helton are also guys I like. Sosa was a tad before my time but him and McGuire made a lot of people into baseball fans.

Catching up after a long day at work. It's definitely an outside of the box hire but I like how Mario is thinking.

I know he'll get a lot of flack for hiring Barry Bonds as the OC but idk, I can see it working.

Judging by the other posts it seems like Sammy Sosa and Mark McGuire are the other top candidates for DC? Can someone confirm?

Definitely every one in your 1st paragraph.

Personally I would like the bar raised a bit on who gets in. I want it to be for generational, elite of elite. I want Mattingly and Pettite in. But I think the bar needs to be higher than that.

Sosa is one of the only PED guys I actually don’t believe should get in...

Mainly because without PED’s I don’t think he was all that good.

My argument for Bonds is predicated on even if you took away every single season he was alleged to have been juicing, he still had an unquestioned HOF career.

Bonds up until 2001 was arguably the Greatest living player in the history of the sport, he legit could’ve retired in 2000 & would’ve been a first ballot HOF’er.

Sosa only had 2 good seasons before the infamous 1998 Homerun chase with McGwire.
