I’d be on board with a Whipple hire. If he can successfully call a NFL game, I’m confident he can do it in college.

Everybody is talking about money but if all the coaches “worth” that much money are employed elsewhere then what are you supposed to do? Taking a gamble on a young up and coming offensive mind with a strong pedigree may be the best way to go.
I'm basically here. I'd quibble a little because I don't think Whipple's pedigree is that strong, but it's good enough. A strong pedigree for a young position coach would be someone like Dorsey, Brian Johnson, or Joe Brady. Whipple is a step down imo.

But I'm with you. We swung at Candle. We maybe swung at Briles. If we can't land the established dudes, then we have no choice but to gamble. Whipple is an acceptable gamble.

Before his work with Davis Mills this year Pep was not considered a home run. He was told to seek other employment from Michigan and the Colts and then had to work in the XFL.
He declined an invitation to interview for the OC job with the Carolina Panthers this offseason, so Pep can diaf for all I care.

agreed, Pep Guardiola? that's altogether different.

Let's take a chance with Whipple.

Anyone have an ideal of who we should give $1 million+ to instead of saying someone is or isn't a good hire?

So what have I missed? Mario told recruits he'll be 90% done with the staff by Friday? Lol..... We'll see.
