Look I know as a team we have a long way to go in the season & we could fall flat on our face. More than likely the odds say we are going to taste defeat at some point this year. It is just so refreshing to see this program run from top to bottom like it hasn't been in many, many years...really if at all. That's not a slight to some of the coaches of the past 30+ yrs (although it is to some) They just didn't have the complete package that is available to AG & staff for making the kids the best at what they do. Nutrition, facilities, ect, ect. I could go on & on. I know it boils down to scheme, coaching, development, & athletic skill but, we are a lot closer to everyone else with the total package than we have been in years. The thing that stood out for me most today was that we haven't played a great game yet this year. We have seen some glimpses of it but, every game has had some ragged edges. That is stunning to me and bodes well for our future my friends. It was so nice to chuckle as the game was ending while I was thinking.....what if this, what if that. Two years ago & maybe even early last year we start off in a 1st Q down 17-7 with the opponent on our 20 yrd line ready to score & the snowball wouldn't have stopped. Anyone who says the gates **** the bed vs us should watch those turnovers again and then watch how we turned the game around vs tech today while they were on our 20 by taking what was theirs! I was never in fear that this game wasn't ours. If that sounds ****y well guess what.....I love it. So while we're off for the next week and a half, revel in the words of the Don......"Coach Golden it sounds like Miami is back?"......Well we are not back but, are on the road to being back!.......has a nice ring to it doesn't it?
