because I want to believe. I was initially optimistic. BC was the type of win that is helpful--adversity, comeback, some success by our young guys. Our QB played well. Then I thought, "Hey, KSU isn't really that good." I mean, really, they aren't some juggernaut.

Then I stepped back. KSU isn't great, but we do expect them to be good. It is a road game. And, realistically, BC is probably a BAD team. They won 4 games and lost their best players. Yet and still it took us an absolute gift from the QB, a goal line stand aided by some curious playcalling and execution by them, and a fantastic performance from our offense to win by less than 10 points. Again, that was BC. Again, BC probably sucks. Did we really do anything noteworthy there?

Objectively, I'm thinking something like KSU 35-20. Hope I'm wrong, and I'm open to somebody changing my mind on this.

I agree Penn... I feel the same way. Hoping to see what our boys can do today, it should tell a lot. I have a feeling that we're gonna have our bumps and bruises along the way. Young teams have to learn how to win... Can they do it today? We'll see in a few hours

Better to remain cautiously pessimistic.

Some people that have "convinced themselves" Miami is going to win are probably the same ones who will call for staff firings if they lose.

You see what you want to see.

I too think KState is simply a different animal. Having said that, the good of being young is that the coaches now have a sample size to work with in teaching the kids.

Be as pessimistic as you want to be but don't going around fling assumptions that you absolutely have no idea if they are true or not. I think we have a very good chance at coming out of this game with a win. I never call for any coach to be fired. Last year KState gave us 4 opportunities to change the game with 3 fumbles and a dropped INT. Last week they fumbled 3 times as well. If we can take advantage of the turnovers, there is no reason why we can't win. That great team from last year BARELY got out of SunLife Stadium.

You chose to lump yourself into "some people" - I didn't put any specific person or poster in there.

Hope you're right, think you're wrong.

Go Canes!

Convince me.

KState's pass defense has struggled. We win a shootout.

I thought our run defense at BC was good. KSU is a better running team, but I like the aggressiveness and athleticism of our young LBs. I don't think we will get fatigued like we did last year. I thought Steven was really accurate in the short passing game. I think the coaches will let him put more air under the ball this game. Both teams started slow last week, but both also turned on when they had to. KSU scored 35 points in a quarter, the fourth, to blow open what was a close game. That simply is not going to happen against our defense.

What happened to this Med Dude???? The last 2-3 years its been doom and gloom whining. Used to be respected interesting read on TOS. So know its transitive propert of equality in NCAA football???? Gimme a break!!! Many examples , but take the obvious- greatest assemblage of talent in NCAA history was 1 miracle play from losing to BC in 2001. We may very well suck this year- but making that determination from the opening game is not rational. Every other top NCAA team that played cupcakes opening week looked like hot garbage... OK Alabama is probably pretty good.....

KSU better come out with plastic on their helmets because we are gonna **** on them!!!!! If that dont convince you nothing will :)
