So Is Coley REALLY a Great Recruiter?

or has that grown into bunyan-esque levels?

Who has he landed in the past that would signify he's a "great recruiter"?

AU, I bring this up a lot but I am going to do it again anyways.

Back when we were all patting eachother on the back after the 08 class and potential of the 09 class because of Randy's recruiting prowess, it was multiple posts by Bakas and co. about FSU outworking us when it came to camps, events, and games.

It was Jimbo and Coley that I distinctly remember being brought up. Not too many people paid attention because we thought we would be fine. Maybe it's not a ton of SFLA kids but these guys were out there and were huge in some of the big FSU classes. Its always tough to know exactly what kids but just looking at the evidence and what people close to the program say, yes he is a **** of a recruiter.

Pretty confident about his recruiting prowess. That really doesn't seem to be in question. Even the noles acknowledge that's a hit. If there is any cause for pause it would be his ability to take our current talent and get the most out of it. Fortunately, there is a lot of talent with to work with and more on the way.
 
He's clearly able to get kids' attention and get them interested in his school; he doesn't have to land those kids to be a great recruiter necessarily. Barrow did a great job in Brandon Hicks back in '08 and we would have no shot but for Barrow, but we didn't get him because he was in Jacksonville I never thought Thomas would go to FSU even if he liked Coley a lot because he's the fuggin OC and Thomas is a linebacker (not withstanding the millioens of reasons that MT would stay home). But he was able to get Thomas' attention, even if his interest in FSU was greatly overstated.
 
i believe he does some work in alabama or geogia too. wasnt he the one who got that QB Winston on board?

Yeah it often times got lost in the shuffle of all our optimism back then, recruiting wise. You know how Bakas always likes to remind people he told them so. For whatever reason those comments always stick out in my mind.
