Offense isn't Miami's #1 problem.

#1 Blake James (maybe BOT for keeping him?)
#2 Richt
#3 Lack of consistent production on O
#4 Hartley
#5 Special teams

Correct #1 with Joe Moglia (or someone similar...maybe Luck?), #2-5 have much better chances of getting fixed.

U answered your own question. Would you advise your son to play in this offense? Richt as an OC is equivalent to No ‘D on defense.

Because that’s where we have recruited the best at. Can’t overrecruit either. We loose more on defense. A lot more.

You do realize that, on paper, Miami signed one of the top couple offensive recruiting classes they ever have just last cycle, yes?

Recruiting never stops...no doubt. Gotta back that class up with another good one. But they signed 13 offensive players last year with 10 of those being 4 or 5-star kids. This class was supposed to be about matching the 2018 offensive class with an equivalent 2019 defensive class. That has been the disappointment.

What I realize is that people can talk themselves into anything. We signed some good kids on offense last cycle. Insufficient on OL. Insufficient on DL. Insufficient at LB. one year. Whoo wee. If you want to celebrate a good class on one sode of the ball minus linemen, go ahead. It ain’t a recipe for title competition, unfortunately.

1. The literal title of the thread is "so if offense is our #1 problem" and the OP only refers to having 3 offensive commitments. Nowhere was defense even indirectly mentioned.

2. How can you say insufficient on OL? Scaife is a starter. Is he going to be great? Remains to be seen. But he was pretty good at times as a true freshman, and gained very valuable experience. Reed and Campbell redshirted. That means the class is insufficient? Shouldn't we wait until these kids at least play a snap before we say they suck? What if we wind up yielding 3 starters on the OL? That's insufficient?
