Miami is the home team. Per the Orange Bowl website FAQ:

Which team is home and which is away? And which side of the stadium are they on?

For the Capital One Orange Bowl, the ACC is considered the home team, while the SEC, BIG10 or Notre Dame team is considered the visiting team. The home team occupies the south bench and the visiting team occupies the north bench.
