Probably not, but judging from CiS predictions our defense is right where we thought it would be. Here are the predicted rankings of CIS porsters. We are currently 53 rd in Total Defense - the average between the 57 predictions ( I took out outliers such as two predictions of 117, one prediction of #1, and two predictions of 17 and 19.) comes out to be 53.5. So, in other words, our defense is right where we thought it would be.

The porsts here the past 10 days make it seem like everyone thought Miami was going 12-0 with a top 10 defense.

We all accurately predicted the horrendous performance of our inadequate defensive coordinator.

If you do that, don't forget to go through all 1-FBS teams and take out their 3 weakest opponents too.

You don't have to cook the numbers to prove the defense is bad. We know it's bad.

It doesn't work that way, unless you subtract the scrub opponents from all other teams as well.

People use the rankings when it is convenient to their (mostly negative) opinion.

All we hear/read in the offseason here and elsewhere was 118 or whatever it was. Now that it has been halved - a more than reasonable improvement - it doesn't matter, l00k at the opponentz dood!!

The D is bad, no one is arguing that. Just saying our ranking is a pretty accurate reflection, considering if you selectively only include the other teams "good opponents" as well, then their avg. yardage would increase too. Everyone plays ****** teams.
 
Its funny, so since everyone was right about the D. Why do you think they are wrong in saying No D wont get this defense to championship caliber?

The improvement in defensive ranking #s is from the soft a$$ schedule.
Some people probably factored that in to their predictions - pretty impressive post OP.
